Today, I headed straight to Barclay Park. Taking advantage of the cool weather and stunning natural light, I quickly arranged the outdoor location shoot for Wuthering Waves Camellya. Early in the morning, I dragged the fairytale beauty out with me. This place is close to home and rich in greenery, making it simply an underrated natural studio. Today's light was exceptionally clear, and the mottled tree shadows cast on the face came with a built-in soft-focus effect, allowing me to capture that natural and comfortable texture without piling on heavy post-processing.
This time cosplaying Camellya, what satisfied me the most was definitely the major breakthrough in makeup and styling, especially the shaping of the eyes. Last time during the Wuthering Waves academy group event, because I hadn't prepared gray contact lenses, I stubbornly wore half-pink and half-blue ones just to make do, and the resulting photos always made the gaze feel off, lacking a bit of soul. This time, I switched to newly bought gray contact lenses; the color is deep yet carries a hint of trance, perfectly fitting Camellya's dangerous and charming temperament. Coupled with my carefully adjusted eye makeup—using eyeliner to elongate the eye shape and outline that languid yet aggressive feeling—my entire aura instantly stood up. Thus, choosing the right contact lenses and applying great makeup when cosplaying can truly skyrocket your accuracy; details determine success or failure.
A lot of thought also went into the wig: that signature black streak on top of the head, as well as the black cross hair accessory on the right, were both repeatedly adjusted in angle to ensure they didn't look rigid in front of the lens while perfectly fitting the head shape. The collar of the clothing and the red chest tattoo sticker were also handled just right; the faintly exposed collarbone lines, paired with that flash of vibrant red tattoo against the backdrop of white clothing, created a very strong visual impact, getting even closer to the character's design specifications.
During the shooting process, because it was an outdoor park, occasional passersby walked by, but everyone was very friendly and didn't disturb much. To match Camellya's setting, my actions in front of the lens were kept as relaxed as possible: gazing straight at the lens, fingers slightly bent near the cheek, wanting to convey that fatalistic sense of "finding you" and a tiny bit of effortless teasing. I also paid special attention to expression management—avoiding being too rigid while carrying that trace of casual indifference typical of the character. The photos with the fairytale beauty were also quite fun; wearing glasses and a black sports jacket while standing beside me, she looked exceptionally well-behaved, creating a wonderful gap moe that broke the dimensional barrier, and the photo atmosphere was extremely vivid. This location shoot, from site selection to makeup and styling, went exceptionally smoothly, with all elements hitting just the right spots. Finding the right way to unlock it makes cosplaying truly a super enjoyable experience.
