The original intention behind shooting this piece was hoping to construct a frame that is both cold and aloof yet carries a touch of brokenness. For the makeup and styling, I experimented with a long wig transitioning from silver-white to lilac-purple. This wide-span hair color treatment required exceptionally meticulous color transitions. The eye makeup was the highlight this time; fine glitter was used to brighten the inner corners of the eyes, and rhinestones embellished the upper and lower eyelids, paired with amber-colored contacts to enhance the translucency of the gaze. The lip color saturation was deliberately lowered, aiming to bring the character's overall temperament closer to the indifference in her setting.
The structural design of the costume is very exquisite; the satin material of the upper body has a natural, smooth luster under the lights, and the dark blue ribbon patchwork at the shoulders and neckline forms well-spaced layers. On the purple-and-blue gradient skirt train of the lower body, irregular white-and-purple textures are scattered, as if starlight has condensed between the fabric. During the shoot, I spent quite a bit of effort arranging the drawstring ties at the cuffs and the cascading streamers at the waist, letting them drape naturally instead of piling up together for this Anime-style fashion.
Although the scene layout was simple, it beautifully resonated with the character's tone. The dark wooden window frames, combined with the filtering cool-toned background light, reduced the noisiness of the environment. To add a bit more softness to the frame, a cluster of pink cherry blossom branches was hung in the upper left corner of the frame. This cluster of cherry blossoms did not overshadow the main subject; instead, it provided a touch of warm-toned feedback to the overall cool light and shadow, allowing the visual focus to be better concentrated on the facial expressions and hand movements of the character.
The gesture of holding the white porcelain cup this time was actually designed in several versions. Ultimately, the freeze-frame with a slightly tilted cup body and the cup rim facing the lens was chosen, hoping to convey a sense of stillness, as if frozen in time and space. The overall shooting process was an ultimate pursuit of detail, from the luster of the hair strands to the texture of the front and back of the fabric, striving to present a complete visual experience closest to the character. I also hope that through such meticulous presentation, this frame will leave a lingering aftertaste worth savoring in everyone's eyes during this Traditional style cosplay and Cosplay photography journey.
