[Lupa cosplay] Wuthering Waves Rinascita: Welcoming Competitor Lupa to the Stage

When shooting this Lupa cosplay, the greatest challenge wasn't the poses, but rather the sheer weight of the massive tail and the red spear. To make the tail look naturally fluffy, a steel armature was fitted inside, which restricted how much I could turn and lift my legs. Every time I changed poses, I had to carefully readjust my center of gravity, or else I would look like an unsteady giant cat. The red spear had serious heft, and to capture the character's effortless yet combative demeanor, I tried over twenty different angles before discovering the ideal stance that utilized the spear's balance.

A great deal of thought went into costume accuracy. To match the character design, the Pink twin tails featured an ombre wig with gradient tips, while the small black horns and headpieces were secured with hairpins. We carefully combed and layered the wig before shooting to ensure the twin tails looked lively rather than stiff. The white leggings with thigh straps add distinctive flair, and the High-heeled long boots have quite high heels that truly test ankle strength; however, this combination lengthens the leg line dramatically and looks fantastic on camera.

The shooting process that day was incredibly enjoyable. The photographer understood the character's nuances well, aiming not only for coolness but also capturing a touch of tsundere attitude when looking back over the shoulder, making side and back profiles crucial. The large fluffy tail on my back tended to snag on the costume when turning, so we adjusted the elastic bands multiple times between takes, and I had to point my toes firmly in the high heels to maintain smooth lines.

Speaking of understanding Lupa, I truly love the atmosphere of Rinascita in the game, particularly the storyline featuring the trio's bond and unspoken rapport, which is deeply touching. Cosplaying this character is my way of expressing love for the game. As a cosplayer, the most rewarding moment is seeing all the preparation and effort manifest into vibrant, tension-filled stills.

From this shoot, I also gathered a few tips to share: when portraying characters with oversized props and heavy tails, always stabilize your center of gravity first, keep your posture upright, and push through the balls of your feet to arch the instep—this creates gorgeous leg lines and amplifies your overall presence. Moreover, when holding a weapon high, don't just lift your arm; open your shoulder as well to generate dynamic tension for greater screen accuracy.
