[Phoebe Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Phoebe's Seaside Holiday Diary

This shoot for Phoebe from Wuthering Waves was set by the seaside. From the moment the location was locked in, I kept brainstorming how to harmoniously blend the blue sky, sandy beach, and this sailor-inspired dress. On the day of the shoot, the sea breeze was wonderfully gentle and the sun was fully cooperative, yielding ideal results.

First, let's talk about the styling. The outfit is a blue-and-white modified sailor dress rich in detail, such as the striped ribbon bow at the neckline and the cascading tiers of lace along the skirt. To echo the seaside theme, the beret was adorned with a blue cross and delicate white floral accents. A black cutout choker rested around my neck, grounding the overall sweet aesthetic with a touch of distinct personality. On my feet, white ruffled frill socks were paired with chunky black platform Mary Janes; while walking across the soft sand in those heels demanded a bit of balance, I stuck with them to keep the visual proportions cohesive. For props, I brought along a white paper pinwheel and a basket overflowing with sunflowers—the bold clash between vibrant yellow and coastal blue under the sun looked exceptionally energetic.

Shooting conditions were bright with typical harsh midday-to-afternoon light. To navigate the hard light, I stayed largely beneath sun umbrellas or used architectural shadows cast by the vintage food truck and bus to prevent blowing out facial highlights. In the beach sequence (Photos 1 to 5), beanbag loungers and wooden tables scattered along the sand served as foreground and background elements, establishing a laid-back holiday ambiance. Instead of standing statically, I incorporated playful jumps, runs, and over-the-shoulder glances with the pinwheel. Photo 5—the jumping shot—was a candid capture where the arc of the pinwheel and the flare of the skirt aligned perfectly, naturally elongating my leg lines. Moving to the vintage green bus and food truck backdrop (Photos 6 to 11), the color palette gained richer depth. Sitting on a wooden bench with closed eyes listening to the ocean breeze, or peeking out from the bus doorway, are classic Japanese portrait motifs, yet paired with this coordinate, they evoked an indescribably fresh charm. When shooting on the beach, dodging crowds and using a telephoto lens to compress perspective layered the background umbrellas and rolling waves with great depth.

We shot hundreds of frames during this outdoor excursion, and narrowing them down was tough because every keeper looked stunning. Compared to indoor studio sessions, outdoor shoots present far more uncontrollable variables, yet the luminous translucency gifted by natural light is almost impossible to replicate in a studio. This stands as one of my most satisfying recent location shoots, striking a delicate balance between Phoebe's tender warmth and a sun-drenched coastal summer. Next, I plan to compile behind-the-scenes clips and pick a few favorites for phone wallpapers. I hope this sunlit diary bathed in ocean breezes brings everyone a refreshing splash of summer coolness.
