For this Hatsune Miku cosplay at the CICF Expo, the focus of the Jirai-kei fashion look was the visual coordination between the black-and-white color contrast and the Black stockings. I chose the Jirai-kei aesthetic primarily because its signature monochrome tones, intricate lace, and strap elements create a vivid visual contrast against Hatsune Miku's iconic teal hair. The top is a white puff-sleeve blouse with ruffles and ruching details, layered with black lace suspenders and a black bow at the collar. A silver gemstone pendant set in the middle of the bow serves as a focal point for the chest, while the black choker around the neck makes the entire ensemble feel even more refined. For the bottoms, I chose a black pleated skirt adorned with double-breasted silver buttons, edged with white lace along the hem, and accessorized with a black belt featuring a silver heart-shaped buckle—all selected with great attention to fabric texture and metal hardware. To match the dark beauty of Jirai-kei, I wore a pair of Black stockings. Under the light, the stockings possess a subtle sheen and smooth drape, not only matching the tone of the outfit but also flattering the leg silhouette; paired with black chunky-heeled platform shoes, they visually elongate the lower body. The hair was styled with meticulous care: the teal twin-tails combined braiding with hair buns, paired with blunt bangs and heart hair clips, while a soft pink gradient was added to the tips to give strong texture and separation to each strand. For eye makeup, green colored contact lenses were paired with reddish lower-eyelid shading to highlight that delicate, slightly menhera gaze characteristic of Jirai-kei style. A vibrant red was chosen for the lips, creating a lively pop of color against the pale base makeup. During the shoot, I brought along a plush doll sporting the same look as a prop; holding it in my arms or setting it beside me naturally resolved any stiffness in hand poses and enriched the elements in the frame. To complement the mood, we deliberately scouted out quieter curbside spots, using background bokeh from the surrounding architecture to make the subject pop. In both seated and standing poses, I deliberately angled my legs so the Black stockings and the skirt hem created textured layers, elongating the leg lines while keeping the posture relaxed. With the crowds at the convention, shooting this set took some time and the wind was quite strong, but I was very satisfied with the overall translucency and cool-sweet aesthetic. While preserving the character's signature recognizability, the altered costume details gave her a completely distinct aura.
