[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Street Outing: Tianfu Red Subway Check-in Vlog

On my way to Tianfu Red right now, and I just snapped this quick photo in the subway station. Taking advantage of the lull before pedestrian traffic reaches its peak, I decided to head out into the streets. Stepping into the station in this outfit did draw curious glances from a few passersby; while a bit bashful, that is precisely the unique charm of Casual cosplay on the street.

Today I'm portraying Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail. At first glance the look might seem simple, but from the wig styling down to the outfit details, pre-shoot preparations took considerable effort. First is this pink wig: to match the character's visual traits, I specifically sought a style with fluffy texture, with subtle white inner highlights that add wonderful depth and dimension. The white floral headpieces and dangling bead strings atop the crown are delicate, requiring extra caution on public transit to prevent snagging or dropping; once set in place, however, they perfectly highlight the visual focus of the head.

Next is this white plush fleece jacket I'm wearing. The design inherently carries a cozy, approachable loungewear feel; while the thick fleece material gets slightly warm inside the subway station, I chose to wear it for the sake of the final visual presentation of this Anime-style fashion piece. The base white shirt features reddish-brown paw print markings along the collar paired with beige shoulder straps—these subtle accents are vital sources of character recognition. I made sure to flatten and smooth the edges so that every detail pops clearly in selfies.

For makeup, I focused heavily on the eye look and blush blending across the lower eyelids. Cyrene's look radiates a youthful, ethereal innocence, so the base foundation must be pristine and flawless. I chose greyish-blue contact lenses to naturally enlarge the pupils, paired with a slightly elongated eyeliner flick and generous sweeps of natural pink blush to make the face appear dimensional yet soft. While this makeup can easily wash out under bright lights, shooting under the strong overhead lights of the subway station actually brought out a uniquely vivid, luminous texture.

Regarding the camera angle, close-up high-angle selfies undeniably introduce subtle wide-angle perspective distortion that enlarges facial and eye proportions; yet this framing inherently carries an immersive, interactive intimacy—as if the character truly stepped into reality and is leaning in to look at the viewer. Passersby in black winter coats dressed for daily life created a fascinating, organic contrast with my outfit. The reason I enjoy cosplaying in everyday locales like subway stations and underground passages is precisely this thrilling sensation of shattering the fourth wall.

In shopping destinations with vibrant ACG culture like Tianfu Red, encountering fellow fans is common. Today's plan, however, is mainly to stroll around and snap casual photos, and this outfit is wonderfully suited for roaming. Documenting street snaps like this offers a distinct flavor compared to polished studio shoots. The lighting inside the subway station leans slightly cool, so in post-processing I made subtle soft-glow and tonal tweaks to brighten skin tones into a radiant, translucent pinkish-white. To prevent artificial distortion, I avoided heavy contouring or beauty filters, preserving the authentic presence of live photos.

The day's journey has only just begun. I'm excited to arrive at Tianfu Red and meet more friends who love Honkai: Star Rail, and I hope today's makeup holds up well throughout the day. Walking around in a winter fleece coat is warm but makes you prone to sweating; still, seeing how lovely the photos turned out makes every bit of effort worthwhile.
