This time, I tried a custom concept design of Aglaea's "Golden Weave." Instead of completely copying her classic look from Honkai: Star Rail, I took her elegant yet divine temperament as the core and combined it with a champagne golden long dress that has a more pronounced drape. The fabric of the dress took a long time to choose; it needed to capture a flowing luster without being too heavy. In the end, I settled on this textured fabric with a pearlescent gleam, which naturally reflects fine specks of light as I move.
The shooting location was chosen inside a European classical building. The arched structure of the corridor and the warm-toned wall lamps perfectly match the solemn yet mysterious atmosphere of the character. In the first photo, I intentionally leaned against a white Roman column, letting the perspective extension of the corridor serve as the background. After extending the lens's focal length, the row of square lights behind me forms a beautiful blurred bokeh effect, lifting the character out of the environment and making the shot look more translucent.
The second photo was taken on a wooden staircase. The intricate patterns of the carpet and the dark handrails could easily steal the visual focus, so I made some adjustments to my posture. I slightly lifted the skirt, making the collarbone and shoulder lines of my upper body the visual center. I tried to empty my gaze to express a cool, aloof feeling of looking down. This kind of pairing is actually a real test for the cleanliness of the makeup. The wig underwent multiple trimmings and layering treatments so that the bangs and sideburns would perfectly frame my face, complemented by a pair of light blue-gray colored contact lenses to give my eyes a distant look without appearing too fierce.
During the shoot, I also paid great attention to the arrangement of light and shadow. In addition to the building's built-in warm ceiling lights, a soft light was added to the side to brighten facial shadows, making the skin texture look softer. Although this custom design is different from the official armor look, I feel that through the cut of the fabric and the expression of posture, it still captures Aglaea's underlying tone of being "solemn yet gentle." I really enjoyed the entire shooting process, and the harmony between the costume material and the scene made me very satisfied. It was a very earnest attempt at character roleplay through this Cosplay photography session.
