Today I'm sharing the official Castorice cosplay photoset from Honkai: Star Rail. Preparing this set, I wanted to capture the ethereal, cool, and mysterious aura surrounding the character. From early makeup trials to the final shoot, our team invested significant thought into every detail, and I'm excited to present the finished work today.
First, regarding the costume and props: the outfit features a white, purple, and blue gradient, requiring fabric with precise luster—it needed to reflect ambient light while maintaining a matte texture so as not to look cheap. Floral decorations on the chest and arms were hand-glued piece by piece, especially the pink flower garland wrapped around the arm; finding different artificial flowers to create rich, layered placement took considerable time. The geometric cutouts on the skirt hem outline leg silhouettes nicely when worn, while white mesh stockings and pointed high heels match the ethereal style, endowing this Game character cosplay with both gentle beauty and power.
For hair and makeup, the silver-white long hair was styled into twin tails paired with pointed elf ears. After fitting the wig, strands were arranged with airy dishevelment, accented with purple ribbons and star accessories for natural realism. Makeup emphasized the eyes, applying translucent purple eyeshadow to echo hair accessories and skirt, while keeping lip color muted to maintain a cool, pale complexion without looking washed out on camera. Facial contours and eye spacing were repeatedly adjusted to closely align with character features.
A shout-out to the location: the photographer chose a classical European backdrop with Roman pillars complemented by a massive wisteria waterfall, blending seamlessly with the character's palette. To construct a serene, deep spatial atmosphere, rim lighting was utilized to define silhouettes. Glowing purple butterflies and sparkling bokeh dots were partially achieved through physical lighting on set and further enhanced via post-processing visualization effects, crafting a magical aura. Though shooting was exhausting—lacking air conditioning under heavy headwear and voluminous dresses—the final results made every sweat-drenched effort in this Atmospheric photography shoot entirely worthwhile.
For posing, I paid close attention to body language. In the first photo where I reach toward a butterfly, I aimed to create an interactive narrative as if conversing with the environment. Camera angles captured flower, skirt, and leg details simultaneously rather than stiff frontal shots. Recreating ethereal Fantasy cosplay characters requires avoiding rigid postures; through close coordination with the photographer, we captured very natural dynamics. Rather than piling on extravagant words, we approached this cosplay experience as an independent, serious piece of visual creation, hoping to bring everyone's imagination of Castorice to life.
