Today at Interstellar Legend in Hopson One, Wujiaochang, Shanghai, I completed a special one-day store manager collaboration shoot for Strinova featuring Kanami (Kanami cosplay). The costume incorporated meticulous details: a black crop top paired with a red-and-white necktie bow, accented by a pastel pink belt to establish bold, vibrant color contrast. The white pleated skirt on the lower half and over-the-knee boots crafted with subtly reflective fabric presented quite a challenge for color grading amid the complex ambient lighting of an arcade. To embody her energetic yet cybernetic archetype, we invested considerable effort into posing—such as resting one hand on the booth counter or gesturing guidance, striving to project an agile readiness poised to leap into combat at any second. This shoot utilized a SONY A7M5 paired with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II 'Holy Trinity' standard zoom lens, which effortlessly preserved fine dermal textures and intricate garment fabrics in an indoor setting with chaotic lighting ratios. When handling the multicolored neon signage in the background in particular, the shallow depth of field from the wide aperture made the subject pop crisply without visual clutter. The photographer @瑪萨卡 seized candid interactive moments with impeccable timing. Acting as the one-day store manager on site involved engaging with visitors before the booth, where collaboration character cards and event schedules were laid across the tabletop; this immersive staging made the shoot thoroughly enjoyable. Claw crane machines and lighted marquee signs behind, combined with beach-themed character illustrations across the booth, cultivated a lively summer party vibe. When posing, I consciously leveraged the architectural framing of the booth to elongate bodily linework. To recreate that breezy, capable demeanor from the game, I spent extensive preparation time practicing gazes and micro-expressions in the mirror—her eyes needed to emanate unwavering confidence and ease. The black arm warmers and vibrant pink fingerless gloves might be accessories, yet wearing them instantly channeled that ready-to-fight operative presence; the vivid glove color naturally guided the viewer's focal point during hand gestures. Shooting inside a bustling shopping mall arcade with heavy foot traffic was certainly a test of concentration. Yet standing before the booth emblazoned with character artwork amid the mechanical hum of arcade cabinets made slipping into the role effortless. I strove to engage directly with the set—resting a hand along the counter edge or leaning forward slightly toward the promotional acrylic stands—infusing the captures with authentic event realism rather than stiff, posed rigidity. Many highlights caught by the lens were seized mid-motion. I especially love the frames flipping my hair or gesturing forward, which, together with the stance in white tall boots, elongated my full-body proportions. Beyond the photoshoot itself, absorbing the vibrant atmosphere of engaging with everyone as the one-day manager—with character cards and pink promotional acrylics serving as charming accents—was wonderful. From garment fidelity to overall atmospheric world-building, this shoot fulfilled all my creative expectations for a thoroughly exhilarating experience.
