This photoshoot series revolves around a soccer girl theme, featuring a blue-and-white jersey paired with white over-the-knee socks, complemented by a colorful soccer ball as a prop. The shoot took place indoors on a white sofa alongside a large floor-to-ceiling window.
Throughout the shoot, I continuously experimented with different poses to highlight the characteristics of this outfit. The sofa itself is white, keeping the overall frame clean and bright, while the blue-and-white palette of the jersey harmonizes seamlessly with the background. Because I wore a White thigh-highs outfit, I focused heavily on accentuating leg lines, using side-sitting, bent-knee, or edge-leaning poses to naturally convey a sporty dynamic.
To me, soccer symbolizes Women's empowerment and independence. As an amateur female soccer player who regularly plays the sport, even though these photos were shot indoors rather than on the pitch, I still wanted to convey an upbeat athletic mindset. Many people hold stereotypes about 2D style sportswear, but I believe that under the principle of freedom of expression, sporty girls can dress normally and even style white thigh-highs to show off their unique athletic aesthetic. This is simply a normal fashion experiment with no negative connotations, purely aimed at expressing the vitality of our youth.
The shooting process was full of fun—playing with the soccer ball on the sofa, sometimes pretending to kick it to channel the right energy. I asked the photographer to capture spontaneous moments, such as raising my arms high overhead or holding the ball while glancing over my shoulder. That relaxed ease is the most comfortable state during Sports photography. By combining diverse body language, this look brings together cute 2D traits, the crisp lines of athletic apparel, and the visual pop of a White thigh-highs outfit—all part of the 2D visual project I envisioned.
There wasn't extensive preparation involved; it was mostly a spontaneous idea. I picked a simple pair of white stockings and found they paired surprisingly well with this jersey. The urban cityscape outside the window contrasted beautifully against the bright indoor lighting, giving the set both a reflective metropolitan edge and a carefree youthful vibe.
From outfit selection to posing and composition, I participated in every step. I'm thrilled to have this set of photos to document my passion for soccer and my understanding of Women's empowerment. It is not just about what you wear, but about how you view yourself. Women should be independent and confident in wearing whatever they love.
