[Pardofelis cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd 8th Anniversary Complete Makeup test Record

The Makeup test for Pardofelis cosplay has wrapped up smoothly, so here is a record of the recreation details behind this styling. Participating in the Honkai Impact 3rd 8th Anniversary Creator Incentive Program, I approached this Makeup test with extra dedication.

First is the eyes. The character features distinctive heterochromia—blue on the left and green on the right. To achieve this effect, I chose contacts with a larger diameter. Large-diameter lenses feel noticeably foreign at first, taking a bit of time to get used to. In terms of makeup, the eyeliner was drawn relatively long, and denser false eyelashes were chosen to bring out that signature 2D large-eye, lush-lash look on camera. The eyeshadow was kept relatively light, focusing primarily on defining eye socket depth to accentuate the brilliance of the heterochromatic eyes.

Next comes the hair and wig. The pale-blonde wig needed natural fringe trimming and twin braids on both sides. The fluffy pair of cat ears atop the head is the soul of this Cat girl look; securing them took quite a bit of effort with plenty of bobby pins and styling spray. Styling the wig required attention to texture and layers without looking too rigid, avoiding the appearance of a stiff headpiece, aiming to showcase natural hair curvature in photos.

As for the costume and props, the physical pieces blew me away with their details. The pink neck scarf is eye-catching, accented with clean line prints. The most striking element is the golden fish-shaped metal ornament at the neckline; though compact, it has solid weight and great metallic texture. The dark brown vest paired with white ruffled cuffs feels both sharp and endearing. The hat design is also delicate: the transparent pink visor adds wonderful atmosphere during photos, complemented by a golden V-shaped metal crest and blue-and-white striped fabric.

There were also fun little moments during the Makeup test. Because the character has playful Cat girl attributes, I shot a set of pouting, hand-heart expressions paired with the caption "cat fined for serving the wrong dish," truly capturing her mischievous yet slightly clumsy personality. Of course, pulling off these expressions requires careful angle control to avoid looking artificial. A Makeup test is all about continuous experimentation to discover the ideal moment for the character.

The overall color palette leans warm, with pink, white, and brown shades ideally suited for well-lit shooting environments. In terms of fidelity, I paid close attention to the metal crest on the vest, the scarf knot, and the subtle reflections off the transparent visor under lighting. To match the 8th Anniversary theme, I also experimented with several different lighting setups and angles.

Since this was a Makeup test, the goal was confirming whether the overall look harmonized, so I shot half-body photos first to verify the synergy between makeup, wig, and costume. For the upcoming full photoshoot, there is still plenty of room to refine the look—such as tweaking the contacts' alignment or loosening the braids slightly for a more natural feel. The shoot was thoroughly fulfilling, and the demeanor in the photos came out very natural. Her personality has that lively, slightly scatterbrained charm, and I plan to experiment with more dynamic snapshots in the final photoshoot.
