This convention experience was really fun, and I'd like to share a bit about the makeup, styling, and shooting process for this Arknights Peipei cosplay. Starting with the outfit: the black-and-gold leather costume had great texture, with distinct cat-ear shapes on both sides of the hood and intricate golden embroidered pattern details that fit nicely on the body; while somewhat thick, the breathability was decent. The large white flower pinned to the hood was exquisite, serving as a perfect finishing touch. To match the character's charm, I wore bright blue contacts paired with a long straight pink wig and light eye makeup, keeping the overall 2D look clean and adorable.
The prop in the second photo was genuinely heavy—the metal disc base beneath the great staff had substantial weight, making the center of gravity unstable in hand, so holding it up for full-body shots took serious effort and really tested my arm strength. During the shoot, the venue was crowded with photographers and convention-goers, making finding an open spot quite tricky. The faces in the second photo were blurred out to avoid having too many passersby in the shot and to protect privacy. The ambient lighting in the hall was somewhat messy, putting the photographer's lighting skills to the test; thankfully, the photographer was very experienced, utilizing reflectors and flashes effectively, so the raw light and shadow turned out quite nicely.
I also made subtle tweaks to the makeup to complement the black-and-gold color scheme: the eyeshadow was kept soft, but the eyeliner was winged upward to make the blue contacts look even more luminous. The wig was carefully groomed with neat, tidy bangs. By the time we wrapped up, I was too exhausted to walk—the prop was so heavy and holding it across various angles took a toll, but reviewing the phone photos, the candid close-up expression was the most natural. We went straight to a restaurant near the convention to recharge with a great meal afterwards. Both the outfit and props for this character were uniquely striking, and I was thrilled to complete this shoot so smoothly.
