For this location shoot, an outdoor swing was chosen as the main scene. Paired with the white-and-blue color palette of Phoebe's costume from Wuthering Waves, the overall goal was to present a lightweight and dreamy visual effect. For this cosplay, I specially prepared that long golden winged staff with a great texture. It is not only Phoebe's iconic prop, but under the refraction of natural light, its metallic texture and the pure white of the dress also create a beautiful visual harmony.
It was very windy that day, which is a challenge often encountered in outdoor shoots. The wind on-site blew my long golden hair into a bit of a mess, but it also accidentally captured many moments of the wind blowing my hair strands and skirt hem, adding a sense of motion to the static swing. The combination of the hat and white boots is actually quite demanding on outdoor lighting. The photographer controlled the highlights flawlessly, preserving the layers of shadows on the white base, so that this outfit would not look stark white under the sun while still presenting that clear and transparent texture.
The shoot was actually quite tiring midway through. Sitting on the outdoor swing for too long became a bit prickly, and there were a lot of bugs outdoors, but luckily I brought mosquito repellent. However, to capture the ideal effect, all of this was acceptable. I have always liked the elegant yet resilient traits in Phoebe. This time, through the folded tailoring of the white outerwear and the embellishments of the blue bowtie and tassels, I recreated her in-game posture and aura as much as possible. As for that long staff, it was actually quite hard to balance and hold while on the swing, and it entirely relied on the photographer's guidance on how to adjust angles to avoid blocking my face or looking stiff.
Many fellow fans might be curious about how to adjust the proportions of the hat and the skirt hem for this white summer dress look. In fact, some careful thoughts were hidden in the blue pom-poms at the neckline and the black lace at the cuffs. During the styling setup, I tried the placement several times to ensure the angle of the hat brim wouldn't block my vision while still matching the on-screen effect. The unique blue-and-green background of the outdoor location provided an excellent base color for this simple and elegant outfit. An environment without too many complex backdrops instead tests the character's expressiveness more, perfectly capturing a piece of 2D daily life.
