[Denia Cosplay] Pink Long Hair in Wuthering Waves, The Moment Holding a Red Rose

Putting on Denia's outfit, the most direct feeling is that the physical layering of this costume is far more complex than I imagined when I first saw the concept art. The long pink hair paired with a black-and-white beaded headband already takes quite some time to style, and the hard white ornament on one side of the head not only tests fixing techniques but also requires considering balance while walking.

The most interesting part of the costume itself is actually that pair of separated, wide independent sleeves. The pink-and-white gradient fabric brings a natural sense of lightness, but the white plush decoration around the wrists and the red cinching at the bottom keep the overall silhouette from looking loose. To avoid swinging the sleeves into passersby while moving in the hall, I secured them slightly on the inside, ensuring both the fluttering feel during photoshoots and the volume when spread out without causing too much trouble while walking.

The combination of the white tube top and black thin shoulder straps is visually very refreshing. Paired with the black choker around the neck and the golden pendant inlaid with sapphire blue, it focuses the most eye-catching colors of the upper body right in the central area. The golden chain on the chest with a metal clasp actually feels somewhat heavy when worn, but these accessories give the character a complete sense of depth. Standing against the greyish-white pillar background of the convention, this color contrast is extremely eye-catching.

The skirt on the lower half is my favorite part of the design. The white printed skirt surface combined with a black pleated hem, plus the dark blue and pink lining exposed beneath, gives the lower body a fluffy center of gravity. Combined with white tights and black glossy patent leather chunky-heeled Mary Janes, it naturally elongates the leg lines while making the entire stance look very stable when standing still.

When shooting this set of photos, the lighting across the venue was actually very even, and the greyish-white architectural structure formed a great natural reflector effect. This soft ambient light is actually a test for Anime-style photography because if the saturation of makeup and wig colors isn't high enough, they easily get washed out by the environment. However, because Denia's costume uses large amounts of pure white, pink, and high-contrast black, it actually looks exceptionally clean under this natural diffused light without messy shadows.

The red rose held in hand was specially prepared on site. I originally wanted to take some emotional close-ups, but photographers happened to be taking Comic convention snapshots nearby. Those randomly captured moments at convention settings are often more atmospheric than staged poses. For instance, the moment I raised the rose, or the close-up holding the stem with both hands looking down at the camera, were actually suddenly frozen amid the passing crowd.

Since it was in a public venue, there were inevitably many passersby in the background. To keep the visual focus concentrated, the photographer used a wide aperture at the time to blur the background heavily. This not only highlighted the person, but also made the red rose the most important visual lead point in the frame, making the set of snapshots stand out from the cluttered scene.

Speaking of putting on and taking off this outfit, to be honest, it's really a bit tedious. Layers of fabric, detached sleeves, and the metal chain at the waist take nearly forty minutes to wear and arrange by oneself. But when standing in front of the lens with all details adjusted into place, the complete presence and character charm fully emerge.

Many convention attendees might think snapshots feel a bit cramped, but I feel that Comic convention snapshots under natural light against real crowd backgrounds can show the character's most vivid side. There's no need to force rigid poses—just relax your body, adapt slightly to the weight of the outfit and the drape of the skirt, and look up or turn sideways toward the camera to achieve very realistic dynamic shots.

This casual snapshot style doesn't generate that tense feeling when facing the camera, but rather allows certain character traits to flow out naturally through casual expressions and movements, fitting into Casual cosplay. Especially when looking back at these photos, I found that I wasn't intentionally trying to express anything at that moment, yet the light, props, and costume achieved a harmonious balance at that precise instant.

Of course, the biggest challenge of the day was keeping the overall look neat. With high foot traffic at the convention, the skirt and sleeves could easily get snagged, so I was particularly careful when moving. Thanks to this caution, the integrity of these details was well preserved in the final images.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this presentation of Denia at the convention. The costume texture, hairstyle restoration, and detailed accessories all reached the effect I wanted. Especially in this final set of photos, the state under natural light and shadow appropriately displayed the character's inherent elegance and mystery.
