[Luo Tianyi cosplay] 0712 Celebrating Little Luo's Birthday, Vocaloid Chinese Style Summer Freeze-Frame

July 12th is Little Luo's birthday, and I specially changed into this self-styled Chinese style outfit to celebrate it for her. From preparation to the final photos, the entire process was filled with small anticipations for this anniversary. This outfit was coordinated by myself; the overall visual is dominated by pink and white, dotted with mint green elements, and the style blends the sweetness of modern Lolita fashion with the elegance of traditional Chinese style. The handling of the wig took quite a bit of thought: the silver-gray hair color is styled with double buns and braids draping down to the front of the body, paired with a head full of pink and yellow flower decorations, exuding a touch of agility belonging to a virtual singer. To make the gaze fit the character better, I also deliberately echoed the color scheme of the clothing in the eye makeup, using eyeshadow with a hint of cyan-green to embellish it.

The venue for the shoot was chosen in a courtyard full of Eastern charm. The first few photos were completed in front of antique wooden lattice doors and wooden benches. The sunlight spilled through the gaps in the wooden slats, cutting the entire space into interweaving frames of light and shadow. Holding a white long pole in hand, which sometimes served as a folding fan, I tried to strike some calm and introverted poses, hoping to bring out a bit of the leisurely comfort of ancient literati. The white thick-soled lace-up shoes paired with knee-high pure white socks elongated the leg lines, and also enhanced the cuteness of the overall styling. Equipment and props were also a major highlight of this shoot. Besides the folding fan for the indoor sets, the outdoor scenes featured a long sword with excellent texture. The moment I slung the long sword on my back and turned around, a gentle breeze swept across, making the skirt hem flutter; this dynamic snapshot had quite a chivalrous woman's presence, adding a touch of sharpness and crispness to the originally sweet styling.

The outdoor scene was paved with gravel paths, shaded by green trees on both sides, full of vitality. The photographer was highly skilled at utilizing foregrounds in composition. He cleverly used the nearby pink lotuses and broad lotus leaves as foreground blur to frame the character within a natural picture box, giving the frame more layers and depth. These few groups of sitting poses made excellent use of natural light, as the sunlight hit the layered white gauze skirt hem, refracting soft colors. The entire shoot lasted about a few hours; because we had to juggle various angles and interpretations of different props, combined with the high summer heat, the physical stamina consumption was actually quite large. But every time the shutter sounded and I saw the beautiful moments captured in the viewer, the exhaustion dissolved away.

The final set of photos chosen presented the exact state I wanted—possessing both an understated, gentle side and a heroic spirit when drawing the sword. On the day of Little Luo's birthday, being able to interpret a facet of her in my own way is a highly fulfilling matter. This styling carries my love for this virtual character, and it counts as leaving a highly meaningful visual record for this midsummer through this beautiful instance of Ancient style photography.
