[Hiyuki cosplay] Echoes in the Convention Hall: Chilly Sword Intent from Wuthering Waves

The photoshoot at the Shenyang SSCA convention went quite smoothly, with our primary aim being to channel the character's crisp, chilly edge. Because the venue featured hard parking lot illumination, we relied heavily on ambient environmental chiaroscuro during the shoot, keeping post-processing limited to essential skin brightening and highlight suppression. The white-and-red color scheme of the attire is striking; the outer white textile is rather structured and gets stuffy during extended indoor wear, but its advantage lies in holding garment silhouettes firmly. The crimson sleeve lining features gold-threaded grid patterning with rich tactile texture, while the back lacing and chest metallic fasteners carry dense details that required significant prep time. The prop features a white scabbard and hilt wrapped in thick white cordage that provides a firm grip, reinforcing her battle-ready persona when paired with a stern expression. Styling the white wig took considerable effort—especially the blunt bangs and top bun, which were heavily sprayed to lock them in place. We intentionally selected a desolate, cool-toned industrial ruin backdrop that formed a high-contrast juxtaposition with her traditional battle garb, injecting dynamic tension into each frame. The White leg ring on the leg shifted easily during movement, requiring constant repositioning to avoid awkward framing. The opening seated shot utilized an angle that elongated leg lines with the hilt held horizontally across the frame, breaking away from static standing poses, while the close-up concentrated on commanding eye contact and deliberate hand gestures practiced repeatedly before the mirror. Overall, it was a deeply rewarding shooting experience capturing the refined design of Wuthering Waves.
