This time at Firefly ACG Expo, I cosplayed Arona from Blue Archive! I finally got the chance to shoot several sets of convention photos during this convention season, so today I'm sharing my thoughts on the styling and creative process.

Let's talk about the prep work first. The outfit pairs a blue sailor-collar top with a white pleated skirt, topped with her iconic floating halo decorated with a white bow and ring—the blue-and-white color palette feels crisp and refreshing. The wig features a blue-to-white gradient with subtle pink tips. To match her energetic character, the makeup emphasizes eye definition to amplify bright blue eyes, paired with a natural pink-orange lip shade to give a lively yet sweet first impression.

I also crafted two white props specifically for this set: a square tablet adorned with geometric patterns and parallel lines, and sheets of paper printed with matching circular totems. Holding them instantly boosted character immersion, blending futuristic technology with 2D fantasy aesthetics.

Our photographer chose a street venue right outside the expo, utilizing background elements like metal fences, lush trees, and modern architecture. Under crisp, natural lighting, bringing anime fantasy elements into everyday real-world surroundings created a delightful contrast. While posing, I experimented with different stances: standing on one leg for a playful vibe, sitting on a white folding chair for a gentle look, and leaning forward to offer the prop toward the lens for interactive visual depth.

Wandering around the convention floor in this outfit, I was recognized by many enthusiastic fans! When passersby asked about the character, I happily introduced Blue Archive to them. Experiencing everyone's passion for anime culture—especially slice-of-life and school-themed settings—was super heartwarming.

Honestly, the trickiest technical aspects of this Arona cosplay were securing the floating halo and managing the wig's bangs. Ensuring everything stayed pristine yet mobile during movement took plenty of testing. Through these convention photos, I feel I've gained a better grasp of character expression. From polishing props to posing on location, every detail aimed to capture Arona's true essence. With beautiful weather and vibrant natural lighting, this convention experience was deeply fulfilling, and I hope it serves as inspiration for cosplayers planning fresh, clean-style outfits!
