[The Shorekeeper cosplay] The Blue and White Style Girl in Wuthering Waves: Got Called a Bot Today - Image 1

When my friend roasted my poses for looking like a bot, I burst out laughing on the spot. True enough, this Shorekeeper costume has too many details. Just arranging the layers of the skirt hem and shawl took half an hour. During the shoot, my mind was entirely filled with "don't mess up the fabric," and as a result, my limbs became as stiff as a puppet. However, this candid shot turned out quite natural. Kneeling on the blanket with the long white tulle and blue-and-white gradient skirt fanned out, combined with the butterfly accessories and crystal textures, the overall atmosphere is fully captured.

Actually, the hardest part of cosplay isn't replicating the clothes, but finding that light and slightly ethereal state of the character. The character of The Shorekeeper naturally carries a sense of aloofness, requiring restrained expressions and posture. I tried several standing poses but none felt right; instead, when I sat down and gave a casual glance, the photographer said, "That's it!" The focus of the makeup was on the eyes—pink eyeshadow transitioning into light blue, topped with silver glitter. Paired with the light blue wig and hood, it made my facial contours look much softer.

The shoot took place in the exhibition hall, where the lighting leaned towards cool white. In post-processing, we slightly brightened the skin tone to make the tulle texture appear more translucent. Although my movements were called bot-like, seeing the final images made me feel that the unintentional awkwardness actually has a special cuteness to it, so it kind of worked out by accident. Every time I do a cosplay from Wuthering Waves, I ponder over the character details. This time, The Shorekeeper's sleeves feature translucent ruffles, with a fine silver chain wrapped around the wrist, and the gloves also have lace trim—as a blue and white style cosplayer, I did my best to present all these little nuances. Next time, I will practice my poses in front of the mirror beforehand and strive not to look like a bot.
