This shoot of Suisui cosplay from Wuthering Waves was staged in a classical garden in Xi'an. The sunlight on the day of the shoot was quite glaring, yet as it struck the white garment embroidered with gold and blue, the resulting texture was pristine, harmonizing with the wooden bridge, lush greenery, and tranquil pond to create rich visual layers.

The costume design boasts numerous intricate details worthy of appreciation. The open-back cut paired with a high-collared black choker bolstered the character's commanding aura. I especially loved the detached sleeves attached to the yellow-and-orange gradient sheer gauze, alongside the elongated red ribbons. To set them gracefully in motion, I rehearsed high leg kicks and broad arm-sweeping movements on the wooden bridge. The translucent fan prop in hand served as the crowning touch, with its cyan-green ink wash motif blending seamlessly into the overall aesthetic. The white pointed-toe high heels clicked crisply against the wooden bridge planks, which, paired with black shorts and thigh straps, struck a balance between Chinese-style cosplay grace and sharp, decisive competence.

Light and shadow are truly wondrous elements. The harsh overhead afternoon light cast crisp, defined contrasts across the bridge planks. To capture the precise moments when the robes and ribbons billowed through the air, we repeated movements over and over to pinpoint the optimal angles. In this set of finished photos, I wanted to spotlight her poise—remaining effortless even amidst turmoil, with expansive physical gestures, resolute eyes, and the fan in hand serving not merely as a prop, but as a scepter through which she commands the entire situation.

The entire shoot was demanding, where high-intensity poses tested both physical stamina and facial control. However, seeing the airy flutter of the garments and the tactile quality of the lighting in the final frames made every bit of effort worthwhile.
