[Hiyuki cosplay] The Cool & Aloof Girl in Wuthering Waves

Shooting this Hiyuki look was definitely more challenging than expected. The photoshoot was a Studio shoot with Snow scene special effects; although we didn't have to freeze in the cold, leaning forward on a wooden bench to look at the moon required tensing the muscle lines of my thighs and insteps, which, combined with platform high-heeled sandals, made my legs quite sore after standing and posing for so long. During the shoot, we intentionally utilized the long blade and the red-and-white gradient hem to enhance the sense of visual elongation.

Great attention was paid to makeup details: to match the character's cool, aloof nature, the foundation was applied very sheer and translucent, with cool-toned red and silver glitter on the eyes and sharply defined eyebrows. Styling the wig naturally took considerable effort to create that windblown, tousled effect. Because the character has a 'child acting mature' trait, I deliberately slowed down my expressions, keeping my gaze directed upward away from the lens, which, together with the falling snow and the moon in the background, helped establish that poised, mature aura.

The photographer's command of lighting was crucial: the cool key light was cleanly separated from the ambient background light, making the red and white tones of the costume pop vividly against the dark backdrop. The costume craftsmanship is exquisite, especially the translucent sheer fabric splicing and floral embellishments on the sleeves; beyond looking beautiful, backlit illumination accentuated the sheer texture, perfectly complementing the snowy night ambiance. To capture the close-up of the raised hand, I adjusted my wrist angle countless times to find the feeling of fingertips touching the moonlight before finally getting a well-composed shot.

Beyond the cool, glamorous aesthetic, the outfit actually carries a hint of playfulness, so I also tried incorporating lively details—like tilting my legs slightly while seated on the wooden bench, and adding tiny gold toe ornaments. The tailored Japanese-style modified silhouette accentuates body curves beautifully, and the long silver hair paired with the red-and-white garments looks very textured under dim light. The makeup required high longevity, and after multiple touch-ups, we finally achieved satisfying results. The feedback and texture of this set made all the hard work feel completely worthwhile. Nuanced details are truly the key to bringing a character to life.
