When slipping into Elysia's gear, the core focus of hair and makeup always falls on balancing lively playfulness with elegant composure. As a highly charismatic character in Honkai Impact 3rd, her short pink hair and signature Elf ears are the absolute highlights of the look.

For the wig this time, a soft matte Pink wig was selected. While trimming, I deliberately adjusted the bangs' length so they sit right above the eyebrows, making the eyes look more focused while fitting the anime vibe. The subtle curls at the hair ends took time to refine, aiming to replicate that natural, lively, yet exquisitely layered texture. Positioning the hair accessories also required finding the right angle; combining a purple-and-yellow color scheme added greater depth to the overall visual presentation.

Regarding the costume, the white spliced top with a deep V-neckline in Figure 2 serves as the visual anchor of the entire look. To maintain safety during shooting while accurately recreating the appearance, anti-exposure measures were taken on the inside. The dark cloak, gold-bordered embroidery details, and braided cord patterns on the chest—these refined overlapping elements actually test posture management during shooting. When seated, adjusting both the skirt hem position and the angle of holding the book was necessary to ensure the book didn't obscure the detailed chest design. Figure 2, paired with a vintage carved armchair, conveys a tranquil feel of flipping through magical grimoires on a lazy afternoon, which happens to match the character's calm, effortless elegance.

Of course, in Figure 1, I leaned more toward demonstrating the character's nimble side. The gesture of resting fingertips lightly against the lips was originally designed casually, but wearing these dark brown leather gloves brought a subtle sense of mysterious ritual. This posture was paired with a slight head tilt and a gaze looking straight into the lens. Since Figure 1 is a snapshot in a night or dim-light setting, side lighting on the face highlighted the makeup texture further. This warm bokeh lighting atmosphere released the character's charm, confidence, and playful touch to the fullest. When shooting this shot, to capture that light in the eyes, the photographer and I refocused multiple times to finally capture a satisfying moment.

As for makeup, I used a clearer base makeup to highlight skin texture, focusing on elongating and enlarging eye makeup to create that lively, large-eyed anime effect. For lips, a moist peach tone was chosen, which didn't steal the show while harmonizing with the Pink wig.

Choosing the book prop was also intended to recreate the magical atmosphere from the original work. Hand movements when holding the book shouldn't be stiff; fingers must unfold naturally to make the book part of the overall composition. Although the front shot in Figure 2 looks dignified, behind the lens I had to keep my back straight to achieve the best drape for that dark cloak.

Throughout the shoot, I tried using different gazes to shape Elysia's two distinct temperaments. The nimble glance carrying scrutiny and flirtation in Figure 1, alongside the serene elegance immersed in her own world in Figure 2, were both my attempts to get closer to the character by adjusting my state. Whether warm bokeh spots in dim light or the carved chair under soft indoor diffuse light, each environment helped me step better into the character's persona.

As a high-quality cosplay photoshoot, the costume's finesse, makeup fit, and photographer's camera work were all indispensable. Switching between outdoor and indoor scenes taught me a lot about using ambient light to complement character traits. One could say this outfit gave me a more three-dimensional feel for Elysia in Honkai Impact 3rd, and this process of deeply understanding a character's personality through appearance is precisely what fascinates me most about cosplay. Transmitting the character's charm through the lens is a deeply fulfilling experience.
