[Robin Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Summer Fanta Party in 40-Degree Chongqing

By the pool under the 40-degree heat of Chongqing, this outdoor photoshoot for Robin's Fanta collaboration swimsuit has finally landed. The high temperature was indeed a huge challenge, but seeing the final photos and the summer vibe at that time, I feel everything was completely worth it.

This time, I cosplayed Robin from Honkai: Star Rail, wearing this swimsuit outfit from ManJiong. The white off-the-shoulder crop top is exceptionally refreshing, and the ruffled hem design not only adds layers but also perfectly reveals the waistline. The blue musical note pattern and rainbow elements on the chest fit beautifully with Robin's lively and musically gifted character setting. The orange short skirt on the lower half, combined with a white fabric corset belt, offers bright colors. Paired with the white polka-dot edge decorations, the overall cool summer outfit brings a sunny, energetic, and refreshing feel, just like an ice-cold summer Fanta soda.

There was actually a small episode during the shoot regarding the ponytail. Since I'm used to braiding long plaits for styling, I accidentally put the ponytail on slightly crooked while rushing with the makeup, which made it impossible to see the long hair tail from behind in many front-view photos. Though it was a slight pity, the front and side shots were completely unaffected. Instead, this natural misalignment made my overall state look more relaxed, without being overly forced to maintain a "perfect look." The silver halo on my head and the white feather-like earrings had a high reflection rate under the intense sunlight. To avoid harsh overexposed spots on-site, the photographer and I adjusted our positions many times before finally capturing this look with soft light spots and clean facial features.

I didn't bring many props this time—mainly just a transparent jelly swim ring and a few cans of orange Fanta. Transparent swim rings are actually very hard to shoot in photography, as edge reflections and plastic refraction can easily make the frame look cluttered. However, the photographer @Qianhe made great use of the harsh outdoor natural light and the greenery by the courtyard wall, combined with post-processing that let the highlights bleed, giving the swim ring a clear, glass-like texture. And the Fanta drink in hand was not only a part of the styling, but in the 40-degree Chongqing outdoors, it truly became our "lifesaving water" to beat the heat.

To fit the pool environment, I chose to go barefoot the entire time. Going barefoot showcases the leg lines more directly, and in an environment full of tiles and water stains, this unrestrained tactile sensation is much closer to the casual vibe of the swimsuit theme. In terms of poses, whether standing and offering a drink, sitting in the swim ring looking up at the sky, or lying on the edge of the swim ring raising the drink, I strived to break the character's stereotype and let Robin display a more lifelike, casual side on this summer afternoon. I was sweating profusely during the shoot, and the wig got a bit flat from the sweat, but this precisely echoed the heat and liveliness of an authentic summer.

As an outdoor swimsuit photoshoot, the biggest difficulty was actually sun protection and makeup longevity. Under the 40-degree heat, while ensuring the base makeup didn't get patchy, I also had to keep the character's fresh look. During shooting breaks, I was basically frantically reapplying sunscreen and dabbing sweat with tissues. The fabric thickness of the white top and orange skirt was moderate, ensuring no accidental exposure from being too thin while maintaining a certain breathability under the high temperature. Although the process was a bit exhausting and the hair had various unexpected issues, this summer swimsuit photoshoot with a soda flavor still left me with great memories. This is the Robin in my understanding—a happy girl listening to music and drinking soda by the pool in the middle of midsummer.
