[Castorice Cosplay] Pure White Drapery & Cool Mirror Reflections: Ethereal Serenity Maximized

This photo set is finally retouched and ready to share! Shooting in a space woven with blue-violet lighting and mirror flooring created a wonderfully immersive feel. Regarding this portrayal, I'd like to share details from styling to the shooting process.

First is the makeup approach. To align with the character's serene and ethereal demeanor, I kept the base light while deepening the eye contour blending. The purple wig features a natural ombre gradient effect, while the crown piece and bow atop the head were handcrafted from lightweight materials, wearing securely without burdening the head. The fine textures on the choker and long black gloves are delicately crafted; raising my arms slightly during shooting captures an elegant line.

The set design was a major highlight of this shoot. We selected a pure white background, using soft white drapery to build a flowing, cloud-like cascade, flanked by plaster pillars and floral arrangements that added classical order and life to the frame. The floor featured a highly reflective mirror material—a design that not only visually extended the space, creating a dreamlike reflection like flowers in a mirror or the moon in water, but also formed an intriguing response between physical limbs and mirror reflections when I turned or leaned forward.

For lighting, the key light used a cool softbox complemented by blue-violet side-backlighting. This lighting combination kept the overall frame clean, translucent, and free of extraneous color noise. Sitting in the center, I deliberately spread the skirt around me; multi-layered folds of purple and white fabric displayed exceptional texture and depth under the lights. For hand gestures, rather than rigid structuring, I followed the garment's modest feel, folding them gently over the chest while gazing straight into the lens with a hint of aloofness and ethereal distance.

The fabric of this costume feels incredibly comfortable against the skin with no friction. However, wearing it to crouch and sit continuously for several hours required keeping my core engaged, as the skirt's volume demanded constant care to avoid crushing folds and keep every shot full and graceful. We intentionally picked the flower arrangements; pinkish-red blooms provided a lovely accent and balance against the cool color scheme, preventing the pure blue-violet palette from feeling overly gloomy.

Ultimately, I believe cosplay is more than donning an outfit—it's an exterior manifestation of an inner state. Looking at the photo playbacks, I felt thoroughly satisfied with the captured moments. The physical reflection of the Mirror atmosphere broke up monotonous compositions, imbuing frames with three-dimensional depth and a 2D otherworldly dreamlike surrealism. Combined with these cool tones, it perfectly brought out her unearthly, transcendent allure. Considerable thought went into this Cosplay photography project, with continuous fine-tuning behind every final shot from Honkai: Star Rail. These shared today are my absolute favorites.
