Embodying Pato from Honkai: Star Rail for this convention shoot delivered an intense visual impact. Starting with the wig: a silver-white synthetic base integrated with vibrant crimson clip-in wefts provided rich dimension, while the fringe was trimmed repeatedly to contour the face without obscuring the eyes. The high-saturation blue contact lenses caught the convention hall's overhead lights, keeping the gaze vivid and alert straight out of camera.

The wardrobe is loaded with intricate detailing. A midnight-blue leather bodysuit with tailored shorts features sharp red piped contours alongside metallic stud buttons and zipper closures, projecting a high-tech mecha aesthetic. A crisp white neck scarf and gilded insignia across the chest broke up the palette nicely. To keep the faux leather smooth and taut, minor smoothing was required every time I transitioned between sitting and standing. Elasticated red thigh straps paired with black riding boots visually sculpted the legs. Long opera-length gauntlets detailed with red-and-white striped wrist cuffs and metallic buckles were tricky to don, but paid off brilliantly on camera.

For weaponry, I wielded a sci-fi pistol finished in black, white, and azure, accented with a delicate gold circular crest. While it looks sleek, the prop carried genuine heft; holding it aloft with one arm required steady core bracing to prevent strained posture in the stills.

The shooting session was thoroughly engaging. The photographer suggested utilizing a black folding step stool to leverage height differentials and elongate leg silhouettes. In the initial seated setup, I turned sideways, extending one arm outward while raising the blaster aloft to expand spatial dynamic depth. We then transitioned to upright stances: bending and lifting one knee showcased the lateral boot architecture and thigh harness while visually lengthening the calves. Convention illumination can be chaotic and harsh from above; to banish unflattering facial shadows, I continually pivoted to find flattering key angles or used hand gestures to modulate the light. Makeup emphasized sharp contouring and nose/cheekbone highlights to withstand strobe wash, finished with an everyday rose lip tint. Maneuvering in stiff leather shorts required deliberate care, smoothing down the capelet before resting to avoid creases. Despite a chaotic convention hall background, shallow depth of field kept the subject crisp and defined.
