[Focalors Cosplay] The Scales of Judgment of Genshin Impact's Hydro Archon

For these convention photos of the white and blue winged outfit with the scales prop at CPSP Anime Convention, a lot of thought actually went into the fabric selection, wig styling, and prop pairing for the whole look. Today I'm posting a few organized photos and talking about my genuine feelings during this shoot.

The most complex part of this look was probably the head ornaments and the wig. The silver-white gradient strands with light blue highlights present a soft pearlescent texture under the convention top light. The gold thread halo on top was actually wound separately from a firm metal wire frame; to ensure it didn't collapse on top of my head, a widened hairclip was added inside to fix it into the wig cap. The feather hair accessories on both sides used large white down feathers accented with gold thread tassels, which easily snagged on each other if not careful. To avoid wear and tear, I held them carefully all the way across the convention venue.

Then there's this white off-the-shoulder gown, made of refined materials. The upper body features white jacquard fabric with subtle patterns, bordered at the neckline by delicate lace trim. The deep blue gem pendant right in the center serves as a finishing touch, where the contrast of deep blue, pure white, and gold elevates the outfit's texture. The sleeves feature a wide ruffed opening design, while the armlets are embossed gold bases encrusted with blue rhinestones. What's interesting is the skirt section: cinched at the waist, it transitions directly into fluffy layers of white tulle, with a large gradient water-blue dip-dye near the bottom, creating a shimmering, airy feel when walking.

Since I aimed for a divine and ethereal look with my makeup and styling, I chose light blue contact lenses paired with my base makeup and a semi-matte natural lip color, reducing human warmth and adding a sense of solemn detachment. The high-waisted white tights cosplay was an important part of this outfit. Wearing white stockings can easily make legs look thicker, but I paired them with a garter ring combining gold leaves and pearls placed right below the skirt hem, which not only mitigated the expanding visual feel but also nicely divided leg proportions. When shooting this photo set, the photographer had me hold the gold scales. This scale prop was made with solid materials: a wooden base connected to golden supports and delicate chains, ending in two brass-colored pans. Since the prop isn't a physics scale that balances under actual weight, the tilt angle in hand and position of fingers smoothing over the scale's edge required repeated adjustments, but luckily it turned out just right, conveying the stern presence of a judge.

Turning to the giant white feather wings on my back, this was probably the most space-consuming prop. In a crowded venue like the CPSP Anime Convention, to avoid bumping into passersby, I stood in a corner repeatedly adjusting the harness straps. Halfway through the shoot, my shoulders were actually quite sore from the tight straps. But I persevered with the candid shots, because after all, the main highlight of this outfit lies in the dominant aura when the wings unfurl.

In these returned convention photos, I specially selected full-body shots and half-body close-ups. Full-body shots completely showcase the unfurled size of the feather wings and the skirt's drape, while close-ups allow a clearer look at the wig curls and makeup details. The entire shoot went smoothly; despite the heavy load, the final photos didn't disappoint considering the complexity of this cosplay costume. Venue lights reflecting onto the feathers and skirt made my skin tone look even clearer against the white attire. When organizing the photos at the end, I felt this pure, ethereal vibe was exactly the final effect I wanted.
