Regarding this Furina piano studio photoshoot, I'd like to chat with everyone about some personal experiences from early preparation to on-site shooting.
First is the makeup and styling layer. This time, the wig selected is a light blue-and-white slightly wavy style. When grooming the bangs and the sideburns on both sides, very precise styling treatment is required to present a natural fluffiness. The hat features a golden crown-like decoration and white fuzz on top; when securing it, the overhead downward shooting angle must be considered to prevent the edge of the brim from looking awkward when shot from above. The main body of the outfit is a patchwork of royal blue and white, supplemented by gold thread edging. This blue-white-gold tri-color combination is exceptionally eye-catching under the studio lights. The white gloves on the arms paired with dark straps enrich the layered look of the overall styling significantly, and the straps on the thighs also need to be adjusted to an appropriate tightness to ensure they don't pinch while sitting or affect the framing. The wide white lace and blue bowknots at the ankles, paired with dark leather shoes, are a highlight of the entire outfit under the high-angle perspective.
In terms of handheld cosplay props, this blue-and-gold long scepter is quite substantial, featuring a blue-and-white streamlined accessory at the top and a silver tip at the end. The angle of holding it during the shoot needs to echo the tilting direction of the body so that the prop doesn't look out of place. To hold it steadily, I also needed to tighten my grip on the prop handle during breaks between shots.
We put a lot of thought into the scene construction. The white upright piano is the absolute visual center, and the arrangement and sheen of the piano keys are highly eye-catching. A dark violin was deliberately placed on the top surface of the piano, serving to balance the frame and add a touch of vintage artistic flair. The combination of a gold-framed oil painting and a rattan vase on the left side of the frame integrates wood and plant textures into the overall cool-toned environment. The withered grass and dried flowers on the right stretch upward, breaking the flat background line. The reflective material of the floor is crucial; when sitting on it, there is a faint reflection, which adds a sense of weightlessness to the bottom of the image.
During the on-site shooting, to reflect the character's signature tsundere yet lively temperament, we tried various sitting postures, finally choosing a pose where the body tilts slightly backward and to the side, with one leg naturally extending forward and the other leg tucked below. The photographer's camera position adopted an unconventional high-angle overhead shot, paired with a large-aperture lens, taking the scattered feathers in the bottom-left corner as an extremely prominent blurred foreground, creating a powerful sense of depth. This composition effectively focuses the visual center on the subject, while the white feathers scattered across the corners of the floor, combined with the reflective ground, create a serene and dreamlike atmosphere.
Looking back at this photo from the Hydro Archon full photoshoot, I was personally moved by the light, elegant, cool blue tones of the image. Although the shooting process was exhausting, especially adjusting the color rendering of the white-and-blue costume under the lights to prevent overexposure or color shifting, seeing the final presentation of these photos filled with a classical artistic sense and the character's own aura made everything feel completely worthwhile.
