Since Aenor cleared out the snack stock at home ahead of time, I naturally have to find a way to refill her snack cabinet. The little tavern in Nordeclaire became my temporary work base. Seeing me in this outfit, the boss put me straight behind the bar, saying this look naturally brings in customer traffic. Thus, my "bartender trial card" officially went into effect.
The theme of this shoot is completely set within a real-world Bar scene. When I previously prepared this Ineffa look, I hadn't figured out how to shoot it to make it feel more slice-of-life. Fortunately, I came across this counter with a heavy wooden atmosphere. The warm yellow light hitting the liquor racks formed a wonderful warm-and-cold contrast with the white-and-blue accessories and metal gloves on my body. I deliberately designed some bartending details in my movements—such as spinning a bottle with one hand, looking down to pour drinks, and even seriously wiping that weathered wooden carved prop.
Many people asked me if it's hard to hold things firmly while wearing gloves. In fact, this articulated silver-and-bronze metal glove set has excellent anti-slip treatment on the inside, and the wrists are logically segmented, so there is absolutely no sense of hindrance when handling bottles and jars. Instead, due to the material's reflections, it looks highly textured under the bar lights. The hair is a light white leaning into an ice-blue gradient, combined with a golden jagged crown on the forehead and side earrings. Although the overall styling leans towards a combat style, once swapped with everyday actions, it surprisingly carries an unexpected gap moe.
The shooting process was actually quite relaxing. The photographer told me to imagine that I was truly that lazy yet forced-to-work-hard Ineffa, facing the neatly arranged liquor bottles on the bar counter, and occasionally sneaking a sip when the boss wasn't paying attention (using a prop bottle, of course). To capture that focused yet slightly lazy expression, we tried several angles—from the composure of looking directly into the lens, to the concentration of looking down to play with the carved piece, and then to the zoning out with hands crossed resting my chin. Especially that half-body close-up with elbows propping on the bar tabletop, the background blur completely maximized the atmosphere.
In fact, the action of bartending is harder to capture than imagined. Because one has to simultaneously control the tilt angle of the bottle, the pouring trajectory of the liquid, and ensure that facial expressions remain natural without distortion. Fortunately, my gloves were cool enough, and the photographer was very patient, pressing the shutter dozens of times consecutively before selecting a few sets where both the bottle opening and the hand lines looked beautiful. The pairing of that green wine bottle and the transparent long-neck bottle in the frame is visually very clean, avoiding clutter from too many props.
Regarding the details of this costume, I actually want to say a few more words. The deep blue shawl on the shoulders is not ordinary cloth, but a leather material with a subtle luster. Coupled with the rivets and the golden badge on the chest, the overall structure is highly three-dimensional. The white high-neck inner layer fits snugly but is not tight, allowing complete freedom of movement. Therefore, even if I have to maintain the drink-serving posture for an extended period, it doesn't feel too exhausting.
I am highly satisfied with the final photo results, which possess both the character's intrinsic coolness and capability, while blending in the warmth of the tavern's lively, down-to-earth atmosphere. Although it was said to be a part-time job to support the snack cabinet, being able to take such a narrative-rich set of photos can be considered an unexpected reward. Hope everyone enjoys this temporarily open, Barmaid version of Ineffa.
