[Koharu cosplay] Everyday life of Blue Archive's Disciplinary Committee member, holding Justice to reject all violations

Convention photos from Firefly ACG Expo are finally out, this time featuring Koharu cosplay from Blue Archive. When meeting people at the convention, many would shout "Koharu standing in punishment!" Indeed, in the game she is often made to stand in punishment for various reasons, which has become a classic character meme. For this shoot, I specifically prepared two representative poses: one standing solemnly, ready to enforce disciplinary duties at any moment, and the other in the classic seated posture with a rejection cross gesture, perfectly echoing this meme.

Regarding the outfit, the black-and-pink sailor uniform is the core design. The tailor was very meticulous during crafting; the sailor collar and pink bow tie at the neckline provided lovely accents, shedding conventional stiffness for a touch of liveliness. The small gray-and-black wings on the beret are among my favorite design details; though compact in size, they offer strong three-dimensional presence, with fine feather textures along the edges adding visual layering to the headpiece. As for the hair, spending significant time styling the wig was essential—making light pink hair look soft and natural isn't easy, especially shaping the bangs and sideburns curves, which required repeated straightening iron adjustments to achieve a fluffy, face-framing silhouette.

In this shoot, her prop rifle "Justice" required the most dedication. To align with character lore, the rifle's length and weight needed to be balanced; otherwise, holding it up for long periods causes severe arm fatigue. The photographer was extremely patient during Cosplay photography, repeatedly guiding my grip angle and body posture—especially for the seated shot with the rifle resting on the floor and hands making a "crossed-arms rejection" gesture. Placing the legs alone required several adjustments to look long without appearing stiff. Lighting on the convention day was complex; large glass curtain walls created cooler ambient tones, which unexpectedly highlighted her pink-and-black color scheme, looking even cooler amidst cold ambient light.

Mid-shoot, I encountered many enthusiastic photographers taking shots with various professional camera gear. Though slightly nervous, I truly felt the passionate atmosphere of Guangzhou's anime conventions. Through these Convention photos, I continuously brainstormed how to better embody this character—not just wearing the costume, but more importantly conveying eyes and aura: that earnest, stubborn, yet slightly tsundere presence requires deep reflection. Several passing friends even handed over notebooks for my autograph after photos, giving me a genuine sense of becoming the character herself.

Coincidentally, I saw several fellow cosplayers doing the same character at the convention that day. Swapping thoughts on making outfits and props brought a rare, pure joy unique to anime conventions. Coupled with gorgeous reflections from large floor-to-ceiling windows, the keeper rate for photos was very high. Every time I finish a cosplay set, releasing the character's full essence brings a satisfying thrill; I love this way of recording memories. The photographer's post-processing was just right, preserving skin texture without over-smoothing or distortion, giving the entire set a realistic quality. This shooting experience was thoroughly enjoyable, and I look forward to unlocking new looks at the next convention. When selecting photos, I tried my best to share natural poses that fit her personality; after all, cosplay goes beyond replicating appearance—it is about conveying the feeling the character brings to others. Standing poses with the gun aimed to maintain a firm Disciplinary Committee aura, while sitting down allowed a slightly relaxed feel to present another side of her everyday life. The entire process was both a challenge and a joy, and I hope everyone senses my dedication to this role through these photos.
