[Illya cosplay] Recreating the Classic High-Angle Perspective in Fate

The core of this shoot was to recreate the perspective sensation of the character Illya through the lens. Before the shoot, photographer Dong specially set up a high-angle Kitten perspective camera position, asking me to crouch down and tilt my head upward significantly toward the lens, which instantly gave me a feel for that unique framing. To maintain a flattering facial look in this full-body composition, I constantly adjusted my center of gravity to make sure the Purple outfit styling, skirt hem, and boots aligned well under the lens. The purple coat and white skirt were made of stiff fabric, which didn't wrinkle easily when crouching. The huge pink bow tie on the chest is the most eye-catching element of the outfit, requiring reverse-shaping across the chest to maintain its three-dimensional form in the frame. The golden, long straight wig is made of high-temperature heat-resistant fiber, and the curvature of the ends had to be smoothed out before shooting. The red colored contacts were a key element matching the character's design; for the eye makeup, reddish-brown eyeshadow was blended out at the outer corners to deepen the gaze. The Photography studio lighting this time was fascinating: the key light was positioned from a high angle, casting a soft highlight across the forehead, while reflector boards were used around to fill in the cheeks. During the shoot, the photographer constantly guided my eye control from various angles, aiming to give the eyes both the innocence of a small animal and a touch of tsundere pride. The purple over-the-knee boots had relatively high heels, making holding the squat pose a major test for the leg muscles. My legs felt extremely sore after each take, but it was all necessary to showcase the leg lines and overall styling. The direction of post-processing was mainly to unify the skin tones and overall color palette without deliberately erasing the light stands and cables in the background—I feel retaining these authentic Photography studio details gives more texture than over-polishing. During breaks, I constantly discussed with the photographer how to achieve the best results from this specific angle, including adjusting the direction of my pupils toward the camera and softening the sharp angles of the chin line. In the entire styling, the coordination between the wig and the outfit is crucial, especially the sheen of the bow tie, which requires matching specific lighting angles. The makeup was also crafted to be as close as possible to the doll-like delicateness of the character herself, using a generous sweep of blush for contouring. Overall, set off by this outfit and captured through the Kitten perspective lens, the character's distinct personality was wonderfully showcased, making it a highly challenging photoshoot experience. I'm very pleased with the styling and color ambiance of the entire set, and I hope everyone can feel the atmosphere in these works.
