This set of photos captures BB's early concept design look. My understanding of the character back then was still in its early stages, so the overall atmosphere was set as a blend of a lunar eclipse and a stage play. The costume utilizes a large amount of black lace and velvet materials, paired with her iconic big black hat. With a touch of cool tones from the blue wig, it forms a sharp contrast with the warm red lighting in the scene. During the shoot, I specially chose this background fabric and suspended red ribbons, wanting to simulate a feeling of being bound yet completely in control, just like BB's mysterious and slightly dangerous posture on the far side of the moon.
The small prop in my hand actually adds a touch of narrative to the character, resembling some sort of sealed object or mechanism. Post-processing mainly enhanced the layers of light and shadow, pushing the contrast between red and black even further. The red decorations on my legs echo the overall Lunar Eclipse Theme; instead of intentionally making it gory, it maintains an artistic visual tension.
This set of photos took quite a lot of thought from planning to shooting, especially the layers of the skirt hem and the transitions of the lace, which were arranged on-site for a long time to achieve a satisfactory pleat effect. Usually, shooting the Fate series gets remembered, but this early concept design is relatively niche, and many friends might not have seen this version, so I wanted to take this opportunity to share it again as a review of my early cosplay. The shooting process was very enjoyable, and I quickly got into sync with the photographer. The moment of the red silk fluttering was snap-shotted several times before choosing the most natural dynamic state for this Cosplay photography project. I am personally satisfied with the overall texture, and I hope everyone can feel this lunar eclipse atmosphere under the Gothic Lolita style, which also serves as a tribute to the character of BB in the Fate universe.
