Finally beat the thesis deadline! The exhaustion from continuous non-stop work hadn't fully melted away the moment I stepped into the Livehouse. It wasn't until I took the stage, picked up my light blue bass, pressed my fingers against the strings, and felt that first low-frequency boom reverberating from the amplifiers straight into my chest that I felt truly rebooted. A midweek band live performance has a distinct energy: it feels as if everyone carved precious time out of their hectic daily grinds just to gather in this dark yet electric haven.

A tremendous amount of thought went into this look today. A grayish-purple puffed-sleeve top paired with a black plaid skirt, both lined with delicate lace trims, complemented most thoughtfully by black Fishnet stockings and a matching headdress. Although we dress casually during regular rehearsals, the Livehouse stage possesses a captivating magic that demands you bring your absolute best self forward. Once the wig was set, the makeup applied, and the heavy bass held in hand as a dedicated Bassist, it felt like slipping into a whole new identity in this Gothic Lolita aesthetic. Standing on stage under the blazing spotlights sparked a flutter of nerves, but above all, sheer exhilaration.

We blasted through several Japanese music tracks in succession, instruments clashing and mingling across the venue. That physical sonic vibration—rippling straight from the soles of my feet to the crown of my head—is an experience headphones simply cannot replicate. The live atmosphere felt like a defibrillator, forcefully pumping vitality back into a body drained by work deadlines. As I played, my fingers danced across the strings; occasionally, I exchanged a glance with the lead vocalist or swayed along to the driving drumbeats. Three hours of performance went down like fine aged liquor—exhilarating, intoxicating, and completely banishing all lower-back aches, physical stiffness, and thesis-induced mental tension.

I also snapped plenty of photos—even from a performer's perspective, I wanted to capture these fleeting moments as portals of memory. Every frame holds spotlights, sweat, raised arms, and faces completely immersed in music. From the bandmate singing inside a birdcage to the friend performing nonchalantly in sunglasses, everyone shone brilliantly on stage. Glancing through these photos, one can almost hear the crowd's roaring cheers and the thunder of instruments echoing once more from the band live performance.

Returning to reality, even though tomorrow means facing the mundane trifles of life again, tonight's three hours of escape and catharsis are more than enough to sustain me through the days ahead. Packing up gear, unclipping the in-ear monitors, sliding the bass into its gig bag, and heading home with physical fatigue yet immense soul-deep fulfillment for a sound night's sleep. Life goes on, but music and the stage will forever be the ultimate remedy.
