From the makeup and wig styling to the pleat treatment of this dark green velvet skirt, every detail attempts to come close to the mysterious aura of Komeiji Koishi. The white vines and rose embroidery on the dress heavily tested neatness, but fortunately, the stitching lines of the tailoring this time were quite sharp. The combination of the black lace wide-brimmed hat and off-white water sleeves looks highly layered under the studio lighting. Especially when lifting that blue magical prop, the texture of light refraction was much better than expected.

The shoot was chosen in a white studio because this pure and cool background can better highlight the character's traits. If swapped to a complex outdoor environment, it would actually be easy to wash out many exquisite designs on the costume. The photographer, Wakaba, is highly experienced and intentionally used a cool-toned side-backlight in the lighting setup, accurately restoring the mint blue-green tone of the wig and the texture of the dark green outfit. During shooting intervals, we repeatedly adjusted the position of the blue-purple flower decorations around the waist and abdomen. The way those purple braided ropes swayed on the skirt hem beautifully fit that faint, elusive, and unpredictable feeling of Komeiji Koishi.

Several pose designs during the shoot, such as lifting the wide skirt hem or sitting on a high stool, were all searching for the balance point of the character's temperament—"seemingly pure and innocent yet carrying a hint of danger." Although my personality is usually quite rowdy in daily life, as long as I put on this hat and this outfit, I can quickly immerse myself into the character's state.

A lot of effort went into the details of this costume. For example, the blue plush heart-shaped pendant and the color scheme of the eye makeup underwent multiple micro-adjustments to achieve this current emerald green translucency. Seeing the finalized photos after the shoot made me feel that all the previous late nights and repeated adjustments were totally worth it. As a fan who has followed Touhou Project for many years, being able to present such a classic character in my own way is a highly ceremonial experience in itself for Touhou cosplay and Anime-style photography.
