[Old Western-style building & Blue hair and red eyes] Touhou Project and Neon Genesis Evangelion Duo Cosplay Shoot

Shooting this duo cosplay for Touhou Project and Neon Genesis Evangelion in an Old Western-style building involved extensive preparation from styling to lighting. The overall look centered on Blue hair and red eyes; to match the vintage setting, I spent considerable effort trimming and styling the wig, using quite a bit of setting spray, and fortunately, the final result turned out very sleek and well-fitted. For makeup, I opted for elongated, slender eyeliner paired with red-pupil contact lenses to make the gaze look deeper, along with soft-focus blush to maximize that exquisite doll-like aesthetic in harmony with the outfit. The costume features numerous details, such as lace trimmings, red bows, layered skirts, and matching black Stockings—during the makeup test, I already felt this combination would photograph brilliantly.

During shooting, we set up several camera positions. The first photo was a full-body shot in front of an oversized vintage carved mirror in the Old Western-style building. Since the priority was highlighting the leg lines and texture of the black Stockings, I deliberately adjusted my standing posture during shooting, using mirror reflections to anchor the subject's center of gravity right in the middle of the frame—a composition that both showcases the full costume ensemble and flatters body proportions. The following photos were close-up shots where we used warm lighting to create an atmospheric glow, paired with expressive facial cues and gestures to vividly convey character personality.

For the final two shots, we switched to cool-toned blue lighting. Casting light across the face and outfit brought out a cold, glamorous, and dreamy aura. Paired with a heart prop held in hand and stickers covering my partner's face, visual focus was drawn entirely to my styling and costume. Throughout the shoot, my chemistry and interaction with @Qinqin Chang were seamless, with well-rehearsed poses and angles. The scenery of the Old Western-style building truly complemented this styling—blending vintage charm with modern edge to highlight distinctive individuality. Every time I adjusted angles before the camera or searched for better compositions in front of the mirror, I deeply enjoyed the immersive fun of shooting. The overall shoot was highly efficient, and seeing the final texture, light, and shadow made all the day's fatigue feel completely worth it.
