Preparing this lily white themed trio photoset actually took a lot of time. The three outfits feature yellow-and-white stripes, blue-and-white checkers, and purple polka dots on a white base. The layers of the skirt are incredibly rich; the tiered ruffles combined with the petticoats underneath make the outer silhouettes look like dolls on a stage. The bows around the waist are also highly critical. Compared to the yellow belt of the orange-haired character on the left, the glossy blue bow of the blue-haired character in the middle, and the purple tulle bow tied to the side of the skirt for the purple polka-dot character on the right, these large accessories not only create a cinched-waist effect but also give clear visual focal points to the otherwise complex skirts.

Wigs were the top priority of this styling. The orange short shaggy hair needed to have good volume, otherwise it could easily look too flat. The long straight wig in the middle had plenty of volume, with a very accurate deep blue shade; the hair's sheen looked highly textured under the studio lights. The purple-black long hair on the right has a slightly natural curl, which, paired with the matching mini round hat on her head, beautifully captured her character's vibe. For the makeup, we chose lipstick shades that fit each of our styles. The left character's eye makeup leaned toward orange tones and energy, the middle character's eye makeup emphasized depth and cool aloofness, while the right character added a slight upturn at the outer corners to look gentler and more mature. We used long-wear foundation, which can maintain a clean, radiant look all day without getting oily under stage lights or powerful studio strobes. All three of us wore matching short white gloves, adding an elegant poise to the overall styling.

This shoot includes both indoor studio photos (like the one with the blue-pink gradient background) and actual stage performance records. The studio lighting used dual-color temperature softboxes to create a gradient pink-and-blue background, which, paired with white tulle and paper flower decorations in front of the backdrop, formed the dreamy visual effect seen in the second photo. The glowing 'Lily White' artistic font and a few glowing butterfly special effects on top of our heads were added during post-production to take the atmosphere to the next level. The stage photos in the upper half show an entirely different state—with a full-color LED screen in the background. Although the lighting was complex, it captured our dynamic moments during a real stage performance, creating a beautiful contrast with the quiet posing of the studio shoot. During the stage shoot, we temporarily adjusted our hand postures to accommodate the microphones, conveying a live-performance feel that studio shooting can never fully replace.

The biggest test for this trio project was our chemistry; every pose and gaze had to be perfectly coordinated. Our photographer was incredibly patient, guiding us through our positions repeatedly. Since the skirts were very voluminous, adjusting the distance between the three of us in a limited space to avoid blocking each other took quite some effort. Although we encountered minor issues during the shoot, like slightly messy wigs or unflattened skirt hems, luckily, we had a dedicated stylist on-site to help us adjust immediately. The most important thing for a group shoot is to ensure the harmony of the overall color palette, especially when the three of us stand side-by-side—visual balance is of utmost importance.

Looking back at the shoot after organizing these photos, I feel that time flew by. From makeup, changing outfits, putting on wigs, to finally taking everything off, even though my eyes felt a bit uncomfortable from wearing the wig caps for so long, seeing these frozen frames made it all worth it. Playing a character is not just about putting on the same clothes and understanding their state of mind, but also about working together with your partners and the behind-the-scenes crew to create a wonderful piece of art. I hope our handling of the details of these outfits can provide some reference for other friends who want to try similar group photosets.
