[Kinako cosplay] 40hara Cat Girl Japanese-Style Indoor Photoshoot

The theme of this shoot was the aristocratic kitty Kinako, and the entire process was pure joy. For the styling, I chose an oversized, loose-fitting white T-shirt printed with 'OSAKANA' lettering and a blue fish graphic on the chest, slightly pulled off one shoulder for an off-the-shoulder relaxed vibe. The bottom was paired with white lace-trimmed shorts, creating an effortlessly comfortable, loungewear-inspired look. To highlight her catgirl traits, I wore a red leather choker around my neck featuring a dangling gold metal pendant, echoing the plush, fuzzy ears perched atop my head.

For the makeup, to stay faithful to the kemonomimi girl concept, I wore bright cyan contact lenses and blended soft pink eyeshadow across the eye contour, accentuating an innocent yet slightly untamed visual charm. The wig was a light blonde straight cut styled with blunt bangs and hime-cut side locks; the fluffy cat ears featured white inner fur, accessorized with delicate white bows and tiny jingle bells to maximize microscopic detail.

The location was set in a traditional Japanese room, where tatami mats, wooden shoji sliding doors, and pink cherry blossom sprigs lent a warm, welcoming coziness. The room was decorated with a retro radio, a vintage television, and bamboo-woven lanterns—understated props that richly enhanced the framing. On set, the original photographer excelled at candid captures, guiding me through a variety of crawling, sitting, and stretching poses: crawling along the tatami with paws clawing forward, or reclining on my side with a finger pressed to my cheek, glancing slightly upward. Throughout these gestures, I consciously relaxed my body to channel a feline's blend of languid ease and alert curiosity.

To further enrich this set, I incorporated a tri-color dango skewer into the poses, seamlessly fitting the Japanese-style photoshoot aesthetic while making the character's personality even more vibrant. From the lighting setup to continuous pose adjustments, everything was refined with immense care. This daily catgirl theme is extraordinarily well-suited for indoor spaces, effortlessly conveying playful cuteness through micro-expressions and subtle body language alone. Relying not on cumbersome props, but on the breezy texture of the oversized clothes and organic expressiveness, we brought this photoshoot to life. I hope everyone enjoys this set!
