[Tushan Honghong cosplay] Fox Spirit Matchmaker's Full-Aura Honghong

Shooting in this outfit today on the stone steps was really exhausting, but the photo output effect is definitely worth it. Let's talk directly about this Fox Spirit Matchmaker Tushan Honghong photo set. Actually, when I first got this costume, my biggest worry was the coordination issue between the tail and the ears. The red outer garment paired with white water sleeves has a very strong drape feel, but walking around actually makes it very easy to step on the skirt hem. To restore that light and airy feel, I specifically chose a bamboo forest and this kind of Chinese stone steps as the location.

Photographer Tututu is really amazing at finding angles. Since the setting is barefoot and the stone steps are relatively rough, stepping on them at first was really abrasive to the feet, and I also had to wear those golden anklets, which made a tinkling sound when moving. To avoid showing a painful expression, I could only try my best to put my center of gravity on my toes or keep them slightly suspended. The sitting posture in the picture actually requires strong core strength; the right leg rests on the stone steps, the left leg hangs down naturally, and the insteps must be straightened to elongate the calf lines. During the shoot, the photographer kept reminding me to lower my shoulders and tuck in my chin.

Honghong as a character is actually quite challenging; she isn't that kind of purely cute and fluffy type, but rather possesses a deep-seated dominance and coldness, occasionally carrying a bit of a fox's allure. Therefore, in handling the gaze, I couldn't smile too much. For the standing look back in picture 1, I was searching for that condescending feeling, with my hand slightly raised as if summoning something. When the wind blew, the water sleeves and tail fluttered up, and at that moment, I even felt like I was truly standing under the Bitter Love Tree.

The fluffy ears and tail are the soul of the entire outfit, but they are also the most troublesome elements during the shoot. With even a slight breeze, the tail would swing wildly, and the ears would get crooked due to too much movement. So every few shots, the assistant had to run up and help me re-fix them. That pose in picture 2, sitting cross-legged on the stone steps, was actually candidly captured while adjusting and resting. That slightly lazy state was surprisingly out-of-character in a good way; one leg stretched out, the gold jewelry on the ankle reflecting in the light, just perfectly highlighting the leg lines. Although the weather was still a bit muggy and the heavy wig stuck to the back of my neck was soaked in sweat, seeing the light and shadow texture in the final photos made everything totally worth it. This kind of cool-toned ancient style background just nicely neutralized the high-saturation red on the clothes.

In terms of props, although no special weapons were held, the tassels and ties on the clothes were already enough to increase the dynamic feel of the frame. Overall, this set of photos is one that I've liked very much recently, and it's also the time I've made the most attempts at action control. Whether it's the angle of overlapping legs when standing or the straightness of the waist and back when sitting, a lot of thought went into adjusting them. Every time I do a cosplay, it's a process of re-understanding the character; transforming a 2D image into a three-dimensional, fleshed-out action expression requires even more accumulation.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was actually a bit dim, and we specially waited until past 3 PM when the scattered light filtering through the bamboo forest hit the face most softly. To ensure the restoration of skin tone and clothing color, the photographer also put a lot of thought into using the reflector. Just like that, shooting from afternoon until dusk, although my whole body was sore and the soles of my feet were covered in dust, seeing the final photos made me feel that all this hardship was completely worth it. Looking forward to having an even better state next time to present a different storytelling vibe.
