From conceptualization to the actual shoot, this Goddess of Victory: Nikke Cinderella photoshoot took about two weeks. Right from the start, photographer Fei Wen and I agreed on the core aesthetic: beyond honoring the character's traits, we needed to capture the intense, highly reflective quality of raw crystal.

To faithfully channel Cinderella, the styling featured silver-white twintails tied with black ribbons, reddish-pink eye makeup, and a fully translucent crystal dress. While the gown looked breathtaking, it was an immense challenge for body lines and lighting. Because the fabric is entirely sheer and highly reflective, supplemental light sources had to be recalibrated continuously on set to coax prismatic, rainbow-hued refractions out of the gown's ripples at varying angles.

The studio was arranged into a custom crystal room—spotless, pristine, and dreamy. For the first shot before the mirror, I interacted directly with my reflection, reaching a hand out to brush the glass surface to cultivate a spatial mood of detachment intertwined with coexistence. The second shot featured lying on the bed reading a book, demanding a relaxed, languid poise: lying on my side with legs gently lifted to accentuate calf lines, creating flattering silhouette curves. Holding the prop book beneath cascading crystal bead curtains impeccably suited the character's tranquil aura. The third shot took place perching on the edge of the bed beside a plush teddy bear, holding a dainty teacup and mini dessert with toes kicked up, weaving charming narrative warmth and playful contrast into the frame.

The greatest technical obstacle was capturing light across sheer textures. Because the fabric is transparent and almost mirrors its surroundings, positioning key lights and bounce boards required surgical precision, often needing readjustments every couple of frames. Clear props on set also had to be arranged cautiously to avoid obstructing the face. Photographer Fei Wen's mastery of light and shadow was exemplary, utilizing macro lenses to amplify specular highlights and flawlessly bringing out the translucent clarity of the crystal elements in the final collection. In managing expressions, I maintained a serene, composed composure, channeling the character's signature presence through a lucid, piercing gaze.

Furthermore, while crystal props appear weightless and airy, arranging them practically was painstaking, requiring exact angles to bounce clean reflections across the subject. Prepping this set prompted deep reflection on her fairytale-like essence: the Silver hair and red eyes harmonizing with the water bed yielded that crystalline brilliance I had long envisioned. Checking the camera monitor once wrapped, every bit of effort felt profoundly rewarded. Immense gratitude goes to Fei Wen for pouring tremendous care and artistry into this shoot, crafting exquisite nuances from set building to the final post-production polish.
