Bringing this Zenless Zone Zero Sunna Tea break maid outfit to life was filled with fun and challenges right from the fitting stage. When people think of Sunna, her quirky, mischievous, and slightly sly personality usually comes to mind. Adopting the Tea break maid concept this time, I paired light green twin-tail hair with black-and-pink cat ears edged in white frills. To convey that faintly fatigued yet innocent nuance, the eye makeup was deepened with soft blending, accompanied by green contact lenses and plump, vivid red lips. Styling the wig took considerable patience; while the light green tone is delightfully crisp, the curls at the ends of the twin tails needed daily touch-ups with a curling iron to maintain bouncy, natural volume. Placing the accessories also required repeated checks—positioning the black triangle clips and small yellow barrettes where they stood out clearly without overpowering the ensemble.
The outfit details are genuinely plentiful. A monochrome black-and-white dress features a red bow, tie, and golden bell at the chest, accented with ghost faces and cat paw prints across the fabric. To enhance the playful vibe, I brought along a red-and-white toy megaphone prop. The lower half features white leg warmers and White stockings styling adorned with red ribbon bows at the knees and white thigh straps. Throughout the shoot, I continuously pondered how to project Sunna's slightly exhausted, faintly resigned, yet cheekily playful mood. Since the premise revolves around 'teasing Sunna,' I aimed for a charming contrast in my expressions—showing that despite feeling worn out, she still holds onto her undeniable cuteness.
The first shot, sitting on a round stool with my chin resting in hand while holding the megaphone, aims for a languid, everyday feel. The second shot, seated atop a wooden table with legs crossed and hands resting on my knees, beautifully highlights the details of the white leg warmers and black shoes while showcasing the layered flare of the maid skirt. Although the set relied simply on basic stools and tables, creating natural, lively frames within a confined space required constant adjustments to body angles and hand placements. Resting a chin in hand, for example, can easily look forced if overdone; it needs just the right balance to project effortless, tired relaxation.
To preserve the plush volume and structure of the skirt and leg covers throughout the shoot, makeup was touched up repeatedly, and the position of the leg covers was constantly adjusted to prevent wrinkles from marring the clean look. As a cosplayer, every character brings a fresh challenge in Anime cosplay. For shoots framed around a specific emotional narrative, one must capture the character's nuanced disposition before the lens alongside costume accuracy. To achieve that slightly fatigued tea-break atmosphere, we used soft illumination paired with a light grey backdrop, keeping the overall composition clean and crisp to let the character shine. Though wrapping up definitely felt as tiring as the caption suggests, seeing the final frames made all the exhaustion vanish. I hope this Tea break maid Sunna—offered with a playful OOC apology—lets everyone enjoy another adorable facet of her charm.
