[Ai Haibara Cosplay] Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Themed Sea of Flowers Photoshoot Teaser

This teaser of the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland themed Ai Haibara photoshoot finally brings the finished look to everyone. From scheduling the release for the August 18th Ai Haibara Day to locking in this Alice theme, a lot of thought went into the entire preparation. This year, I wanted to present Ai-chan in a different way—no longer the everyday scientist or cool detective style, but putting her into a more fairy-tale, softer environment instead.

We specifically looked for a very bright glasshouse set, where the indoor light was extremely abundant, and the natural light streaming through the large windows enveloped the entire frame in a soft, white glow. To create that feeling of falling into a mystical sea of flowers like in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, we arranged a large amount of blue, white, and yellow blossoms, complemented by green plants and blue decorative leaves, making it visually very rich. Some shots utilized a fisheye or ultra-wide-angle lens, and the distortion around the edges of the frame brought a highly immersive, mystical perspective reminiscent of a rabbit hole.

For the costume and styling, we chose a layered light blue and white Western-style dress, paired with white underpants and black-and-white thick striped over-the-knee socks, along with a lake blue hairband bow as the colorful highlight of the entire outfit. Especially the black-and-white striped socks—within this massive sea of blue, white, and yellow flowers, they create a strong sense of visual contrast. Not only the clothes, but the props were also carefully selected, including several gray-blue plush rabbit dolls, which added plenty of agility to the character in front of the lens. The first photo on the cover has a relatively centered composition, where the interaction between the character and the dolls is very natural, and the mirror behind also reflects the other side of the scene, maxing out the dreamlike vibe.

During the official photoshoot, the photographer (PHX: @LuOfUn) put a lot of thought into the composition and angles. For instance, to complement the high-key, bright atmosphere, the highlights were intentionally controlled to preserve the softness of the character's edges, preventing the frame from massive overexposure. The focus was also very accurate in capturing the micro-expressions of both the dolls and the character. At the same time, massive thanks to our assistant (@水WaTer-VON) for helping organize the flower branches and adjust the drape of the skirt on-site; after all, sitting in such a dense cluster of flowers while keeping the outfit's styling neat indeed required a lot of fine-tuning.

To be honest, there were some physically exhausting parts during this shoot, as various branches in the flower cluster were somewhat prickly, and when shooting close-ups with a wide-angle lens, the model's poses and expressions needed to be held for quite a long time to capture that perfect single frame. But seeing the raw photos come out, with that cold yet soft temperament of the entire frame, I feel it perfectly fits our concept of placing Ai Haibara into Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

This set of photos serves as a lead-in teaser before August 18th, so I've picked a few highly atmospheric photos to show everyone the texture first. By shifting the overall tone of light and shadow, we made the frames look much softer, ensuring character recognition while letting everyone see another style of Ai-chan. I hope everyone can feel our sincerity in the scene construction and outfit coordination.
