This set of photos features that character everyone often asks about. The cross-dressing aspect mentioned in the post description indeed set a tone of contrast for this shoot, and cross-dressing performances highly test one's grasp of the character's temperament. Adjustments to the gaze and facial expressions are crucial; it shouldn't be too sharp or masculine, yet it shouldn't be overly frail either. The balance point between these two is the core of the entire photo set. Combined with the ice-blue short braided hair style with straight bangs, and the playful vibe of the small daisies and blue bowknot on the straw hat, the overall charm was managed into a quite comfortable state.

Next, let's talk about this costume dominated by a blue and white theme. The color selection is very accurate; this ice blue with a touch of gray and brightness looks fair on skin once on camera and avoids a cheap plastic feel. Regarding the fabric, the outer layer uses a matte-textured dark blue material, paired with light-colored spun yarn inside, which props up the sense of layering without looking bulky. The pattern of the sleeves retains the gold accents on the cuffs, which, combined with the line tailoring of the shoulders, adds a touch of crispness. The neckline, paired with a golden pendant and chain, adds a dash of nobility to the fresh base tone. That large blue square ornament on the back perfectly fills the negative space in the frame when shooting from a side-back angle, making the overall look fuller.

The props were the highlight of this shoot. A blue-backed folding fan with white flower patterns, a black scroll with subtle textures, as well as a calligraphy brush and a tea set placed on a small low table. We tried several different ways to utilize the folding fan: sometimes using it to half-mask the face to add mystery and emotional tension, and sometimes holding it high in coordination with a single-leg standing posture to showcase the agility of the skirt hemline. In the set of photos with the realistic tatami mat scene, I opted for a more immersive interaction. Making a few strokes on a blank scroll with the calligraphy brush, or holding a black-glazed teacup while lowering my head to flip through a book. The photographer cleverly utilized that warm yellow paper lantern nearby as ambient light; the warm glow falling on the profile of my face formed a brilliant, quiet contrast with the coolness of the outfit, giving the frame a beautiful breathing room.

Although the overall shoot took several hours, the coordination with the staff was very smooth. Due to the numerous braids in the wig and various accessories, we had to frequently touch up makeup and rearrange the hairstyle midway to maintain the continuity of the state. The photographer was highly meticulous about composition; for example, when shooting close-ups, using a large aperture to completely blur the background, focusing only on the details of the gaze and the folding fan, which beautifully balanced the focal point of the frame. Although it is a cross-dressing performance, through the coordination of costumes, props, and facial expressions, it unexpectedly allowed us to explore the joy of another form of interpretation. Those feigned gestures when writing calligraphy or savoring tea, as long as the emotion is in place, can deliver that elegant sense of story through the freezing of the shutter. This atmospheric realistic scene shooting experience is very complete, and it proves that once props and scenes are properly matched, the character's sense of immersion will be greatly enhanced. This is a great piece for a client photo showcase in the 2D world using Cosplay photography.
