Preparing for this Naruto Team 7 shoot took nearly a month from start to finish. From test looks and location scouting to the official shoot day, the entire team poured immense energy into the project. As Sakura's cosplayer, I dedicated substantial effort to hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Sakura's early pink short hair and high-collared red jacket are her signature hallmarks; to faithfully capture that aesthetic, I focused heavily on trimming and styling the wig. Pink wigs can easily look cheap or overly shiny, so I communicated repeatedly with my stylist on layering to ensure the strands had natural, fluffy volume and density rather than lying flat against the scalp. Regarding the wardrobe, the white zipper on the red jacket and the white circular crest motifs on the sleeves truly tested the tailor's craftsmanship. The neckline height of the inner shirt and choice of fabric were all cross-referenced meticulously against original references.

On shoot day, the chemistry among the three of us was effortless. Ran Dongshang, portraying Naruto, put a lot of thought into his spiky blonde styling—the whisker markings on his cheeks were drawn cleanly, and his hand-seal mudras before the camera were spot-on. Wei Jin, playing Sasuke, nailed Sasuke's early cold, aloof demeanour with his spiky black hair and high-collared jacket. He habitually pulled up the collar to conceal the lower half of his face or formed two-handed seals to enrich the frame's depth. As Sakura, I was typically positioned in the center or flanked to one side, using the vibrant crimson of my jacket to brighten the overall palette. When composing shots, we deliberately arranged our positions into triangular formations to ground visual stability.

Photographer Qingfeng V brought rich experience in light shaping. To accentuate wig colors and fabric textures, strong frontal key light was applied while crushing the background shadows, allowing our subjects to pop sharply from distracting surroundings. Post-production retouching was completed jointly by us cosplayers and the photographer: Ran Dongshang, Wei Jin, and I ensured skin textures and color uniformity, while Qingfeng V governed the overarching lighting mood. Rather than smoothing away all skin texture, we preserved authentic grain while amplifying the contrast between eye makeup and hair color to give the characters dimensional presence.

The shooting process was filled with fun details. For instance, capturing Naruto's dynamic movement while forming seals required continuous burst shooting from the camera, along with repeated fine-tuning of finger placements and eye focus. Sasuke's seemingly casual yet lethal combat posture required strong lumbar engagement, which grew quite tiring over long sessions. As a core member of Team 7, Sakura's stance may not be as overtly flashy as the boys', but demanding nuance through eye contact and micro-expressions conveyed her signature tenacity and vitality. In this shot, I turned slightly sideways, letting my pink hair drape naturally across my shoulder while highlighting the jacket's sleeve detail.

Whenever doing a multi-person group cosplay shoot, the biggest test is never individual solo performance, but the holistic cohesion of the entire frame. Color harmonization, staging, and prop alignment all require proactive communication. Though the process was physically demanding—with non-stop makeup touch-ups and wig adjustments—seeing us standing together in the finished shots made every bit of effort worth it. Naruto carries the youth memories of so many people, and being able to pay tribute to Team 7 in this way was both a thrilling challenge and a deeply meaningful experience for us all.
