This time, I cosplayed Megumi Kato's classic casual outfit—the look featuring a red cardigan paired with a white blouse and white pleated skirt. In selecting the garments, I strove to recreate that authentic everyday yet subtly academic aesthetic from the original artwork. For the white shirt, I deliberately chose a slightly stretchy, wrinkle-resistant fabric so it wouldn't look sloppy during outdoor activity. The thin black ribbon bow at the collar was meticulously adjusted in length so it rests right at the chest, adding an obedient, gentle touch.
The red knit cardigan serves as the visual anchor of the whole ensemble. Its saturation shouldn't be overly loud; a slightly deeper crimson carries more refined texture under natural daylight without overpowering the white shirt. To flatter the character's silhouette, I picked a cropped, form-fitting cut, which nicely raises the waistline when paired with the pleated skirt. The skirt's pleats were crisply ironed to hold their clean vertical drape, fluttering in natural ripples with every step.
As for the headwear, that white beret was somewhat tricky to secure, so I used several black bobby pins underneath. When wearing it, it shouldn't sit squarely on top; angling it roughly thirty degrees to the side not only frames the facial profile, but also evokes a relaxed, effortless nonchalance that perfectly matches Megumi's understated personality.
The lower-body coordination is something many friends are keen on. The over-the-knee White stockings feature a gentle shaping compression in a natural milky white rather than a harsh chalky white, flattering smooth, fluid leg lines. The cuffs are embellished with lace frills and slender ribbon bows, delivering exquisite detail. To prevent slippage while walking, I selected a pair with a wider anti-slip silicone band. The glossy black patent leather Mary Janes feature a block heel around 3 to 4 cm high, providing dependable stability on crosswalks and long outdoor standing takes without causing fatigue.
For the location, we selected a roadside setting with metal guardrails, lush greenery, and painted crosswalk stripes. This scene steeped in authentic everyday life fits Megumi Kato's character concept impeccably—she is fundamentally that ordinary yet extraordinary girl who strolls the streets right beside you.
In managing poses and facial expressions, I avoided exaggerated dramatics. Most takes involved natural standing, holding a handbag, or gently tilting my head. I kept my gaze gentle and calm, accompanied by occasional faint smiles. To portray that subtle, unobtrusive presence that turns undeniably endearing once noticed, restraint and natural ease are everything. Through relaxed body language and interactive eye contact, I hope everyone can feel the familiar warmth of Megumi. Shot under natural outdoor daylight streaming in from the front-side, soft facial shadows were formed, while the fabric textures of the outfit and White stockings were gorgeously showcased, yielding a truly organic, lifelike final photo set.
