Organizing and releasing this set of outdoor photos of the Nine-tailed fox from the Xi'an Dreamland Comic Convention, I originally wanted to share a complete convention experience with fellow fans. As seen in the comments section, although this character has a wide audience, there were some fluctuations in offline enthusiasm for this IP during this Xi'an Dreamland convention event. However, these external factors won't affect my love for this outfit; since I captured satisfying photos, I should post them to document my state that day.

In terms of styling, this Nine-tailed fox outfit includes rich elements, but what took the most effort was the overall hair texture and weight balance. The pink gradient wig needed to be styled for fluffy volume, while firmly securing headpieces and the silver metallic-textured headband so they wouldn't tilt from walking or wind. The silver components on the headpiece feature smooth curves and high reflectivity, casting clear highlights under bright light—one of the reasons it looks eye-catching in photos.

The main costume is constructed from multi-layered fabric patchwork, with curved silver metallic arm guards worn on the shoulders and arms. This metal material paired with soft gauze fabrics and plush fur forms an aesthetic tension of strength and softness visually. The inner lining features blue-cyan fabric, creating a color-blocking contrast with the outer red and white plush. The massive fluffy tails fading from white to pink serve as the core visual anchor of this look. Spreading out on the lawn, these tails cover a huge area, filling the frame beautifully to evoke a strong fantasy vibe. Yet because of their massive volume, adjusting the tail direction and placement while sitting or lying on the grass took considerable time to ensure they didn't crush the skirt hem or block most of the torso.

Regarding these two top-down perspective photos, they were captured on a whim. The sunlight was extremely intense then, baking the lawn hot. Lying on the grass, strong sunlight struck the silver headpiece and fluffy tails, casting sharp-contoured, deeply saturated dark shadows on the grass. This high-contrast natural light made the pink hair and dress appear even more vibrant and lively. I tried resting my hands beside my face, tilting my head slightly with focused eyes to convey a relaxed yet playful demeanor. The other front-seated photo represents a common perspective at conventions, with walking crowds in the background authentically capturing the lively energy of outdoor anime events.

Honestly, despite a hint of regret expressed in the text, I personally enjoyed this shooting experience at Xi'an Dreamland. Outdoor cosplay really tests physical endurance and patience, especially with complex costume structures and numerous accessories. Sitting, lying down, and getting up in this gear easily disheveled the outfit or bumped the wig; capturing a satisfying shot often took multiple adjustments and re-posing. Yet it's precisely this painstaking process that makes the final photos feel more precious. Amidst shifting convention trends, meeting a bright sunny day and bringing carefully prepared hair, makeup, and costumes to enjoy a dedicated creative session is immensely meaningful in itself.

Finally, documenting special detail feelings from this outfit. While the tails look soft and fluffy, their center of gravity and weight distribution pose quite a challenge. When lying down or on one's side, failing to adjust the tail skeleton beforehand easily causes the entire look to collapse or face awkward directions on camera. Moreover, large plush props used outdoors easily pick up grass debris and dirt on the bottom, requiring thorough cleaning between shots.

For fellow fans who love this classic multi-tailed look, meeting someone at a convention who recognizes the character instantly and wants to take photos together is truly motivating. Though the convention atmosphere changed somewhat compared to past years, I still hope to convey this mythic, agile feeling I love through this outdoor photo set—the fundamental original goal of my cosplay journey.
