For this shoot of Shiroko Sunaookami, my main goal was to showcase her quieter, more tranquil side within an everyday environment. For the wardrobe, a white shirt and pleated skirt serve as the foundation, but to optimize the final photos, I specifically selected a shirt fabric with a slightly crisp, structured weave. This ensures that even during poses like leaning forward or resting on a desk—which typically cause wrinkles—the shoulder and back lines remain smooth and tidy without looking sloppy or slouchy. The vibrant blue necktie serves as the visual focal point of the entire outfit; I compared numerous shades to find that exact, perfectly saturated blue that echoes her hair ornaments.
Styling the wig took considerable care, as long, straight silver-white hair easily loses its luster and texture if neglected. I meticulously trimmed the bangs to ensure that when looking down at a book or closing my eyes, the strands would drape naturally rather than clinging rigidly to the face. The placement of the beast-ear headband was also adjusted repeatedly, utilizing the thickness of the wig to boost the crown's volume and improve the overall head-to-body proportion. For that pale blue cross hairpin, I selected a material with a subtle thickness and sheen that catches the sunlight with a charming, glowing edge.
On the makeup front, to stay true to the character's traits, I kept the base foundation clean and translucent to preserve skin texture. The main focus was placed on the eyes: I wore ice-blue circle lenses, used a low-saturation gray-brown eyeshadow to lightly deepen the eye contours and elongate the eye shape, and channeled that aloof yet intensely focused gaze. As a fine detail, I applied mint-green nail polish; this small pop of color adds a lively, vivid touch to the frame.
The shoot location was an attic featuring a slanted skylight, and mastering natural light was the core of this photo set. Sunlight diffused down through the skylight, casting beautifully layered patterns across the wooden desk and sofa. The side-lying angle in Photo two actually tested compositional skill; to capture a relaxed, languid mood, I shifted my center of gravity so that the folds of the White stockings and pleated skirt formed a diagonal line across the tilted frame, with the slightly rolled hem and the natural transition of the white socks adding an organic, everyday breath of life. Reclining like this also required conscious control over facial muscles to maintain a sharp jawline.
Photos three and four were taken by the wooden desk. Using scattered old books, cardboard boxes, and a transparent glass cup as foreground elements helped build an authentic slice-of-life atmosphere. While resting on the desk, I turned my face slightly so the sunlight caught just the bridge of my nose and cheekbone, casting soft shadows across the folds of the white shirt under the warm light, while the backlit, fuzzy edges of the beast ears framed a remarkably gentle scene. A reflector was used in the shadow areas to fill in light and soften the contrast, ensuring even facial illumination.
The overall creative direction was to capture Shiroko's relaxed, unwound state in an indoor setting—avoiding overly dramatic body movements in favor of spacing out, deep thought, or casually flipping through paper pages. In post-processing color grading, I preserved the warm tones of the sunlight, lifting the highlights slightly to introduce an airy, ethereal ambiance.
