The pre-production for this riverside sunset photoshoot was actually far more intricate than anticipated. To achieve optimal visual impact, I began curating the wardrobe and props half a month in advance. I evaluated multiple uniform patterns before settling on this white collared shirt; its crisp, structured fabric prevents transparency under backlighting, while the pastel pink collar bow adds a touch of girlish playfulness. For the pleated skirt, I chose a muted greyish blue with razor-sharp pleats, ensuring the hemline bloomed into flattering arcs whether caught in a light breeze or in motion. To visually elongate the leg contours, I styled it with over-the-knee White stockings (White stockings) and classic uniform loafers. The White stockings (White stockings) were deliberately chosen in a slightly sheer denier, allowing a soft hint of skin tone to filter through beneath the setting sun and preventing the look from feeling overly heavy or flat.

The central prop for this shoot was the giant blue butterfly kite. While the photos appear effortlessly atmospheric, wrangling it on site was an intense physical workout. With a wingspan close to two meters, its lightweight frame possessed a massive surface area; with intermittent gusts sweeping off the river, I had to lock my core and ground my stance firmly to hold graceful poses before the lens, otherwise the wind would easily topple both me and the kite.

The shooting location was set on a rocky riverbank, making balancing in uniform loafers quite challenging. Photographer Li Yubin scouted the location beforehand, locking in several prime vantage angles. Arriving at 4:30 PM, we waited patiently until nearly 6:00 PM purely to seize those precious few minutes of golden hour. The setting sun was remarkably gentle at that moment, casting golden-pink ripples across the water that resonated harmoniously with our evening river theme.

For hair and makeup, I adopted a minimalist approach—keeping the base sheer and dewy, focusing on blush to blend naturally with the sunset's warm ambiance. My hair was styled into twin tails accented with light-blue hair accessories to echo the kite's palette. In posing design, because the oversized kite could easily obscure my face or make movements look clunky, Master Li guided me to explore side-profile glances over the shoulder. For instance, in Photo 1, a side-facing stance with a subtle backward lean accentuated bodily curves beautifully; the over-the-knee White stockings (White stockings) took on a delicate, translucent texture under backlighting, creating rich visual depth against the pleated skirt's shadow. The lifted single-leg pose in Photo 3 was designed to break rigid center-of-gravity stillness, injecting lively dynamism into the frame.

The wide shot hoisting the kite high overhead served primarily to establish the vast environment, where the pastel pink-to-blue sunset gradient was utterly breathtaking. The chiaroscuro nuances in this set were preserved with exceptional fidelity; Master Li's highlight suppression was impeccably professional, keeping both water ripples and the setting sun's contour crisp and visible. Without requiring aggressive retouching or color grading, the raw texture of the images proved thoroughly stunning on its own.
