Bringing the catgirl form of Komazawa Noi from Cosmic Princess Kaguya! to life took nearly three hours just for wig styling and wardrobe calibration. The two-tone purple-and-pink long straight hair creates striking visual layers on camera, which also means maintenance is particularly demanding; before shooting, every strand had to be smoothed with a flat iron and set with generous hairspray to keep flyaways at the crown from scattering during movement. To ensure the animal ears and horns wouldn't budge during takes, I stitched hidden bobby pin grips inside the wig foundation, keeping every accessory firmly anchored even through dynamic poses.

The makeup served as the true centerpiece of the session. To suit the catgirl motif, I chose reddish-brown contact lenses, blending plum and red-brown eyeshadow extensively while deepening the lower eyelid line and aegyo sal to give the eyes an innocent, wide-eyed look. To build dimension, individual lower lashes were applied, paired with a winged flick at the outer corners. The base makeup pursued a clean matte finish with soft pink blush swept under the eyes, keeping the face fresh and pure while exuding that subtly seductive feline allure.

The wardrobe was my absolute favorite element. A pink-and-black vest dress styled with scalloped black wavy trim along the bust and hem, offset by white ruffles at the shoulders that added an airy grace. The detached black sleeves feature matching white ruffles at the wrists, while the pink harness straps and metallic buckles on the upper arms were painstakingly adjusted so the sleeves maintained their crisp silhouette even when bent. The back cinch belt on the vest tightened the waistline while lending the silhouette a sharp edge. The skirt features an asymmetrical layered cut, teasing glimpses of pink lining through the slits. Pairing this ensemble with the pink heart-shaped garter, White stockings (lace socks), and chunky black platform Mary Janes was essential to complete the aesthetic balance. The tail was internally wired as well, allowing it to drape naturally or curve gently while seated on the white round pedestal.

The lighting leaned cool against a minimalist concrete gray backdrop that kept visual focus entirely on the subject. Seated poses actually demanded far more core engagement than standing; with such a voluminous skirt, careful arrangement was necessary to showcase leg contours without wrinkling the fabric. I gently rested my hands beneath my lips or cradled my chin, using finger placement to create breathing room in the frame. Softening my gaze with lips slightly parted helped convey her signature languid, enigmatic demeanor. The studio grew rather warm and the multiple fabric layers trapped heat, requiring short breathers between sets, but the shoot progressed smoothly.

Packing down afterwards was just as thorough: the wig needed conditioning spray and hair nets, the plush ears and tail were brushed and dusted, and the pink garter was wiped clean. Though exhausting, seeing how the lighting and color palette came together in the final edits made every bit of preparation worthwhile.
