[Sorasaki Hina Cosplay] Serene Light and Shadow of Dress Hina in Blue Archive

Both the event photos and finished photoshoot this time feature the dress version styling of Sorasaki Hina from Blue Archive. Choosing an indoor studio shoot with a Blue-toned backdrop, paired with a black grand piano and blue-and-white floral arrangements, was intended to materialize the character's elegant demeanor touched with a subtle sense of distance.

Faithfully recreating this dress Hina costume actually involved numerous details. The deep midnight-blue/black tube-top mini dress features multi-layered pleats and tulle splicing on the skirt, with a subtly lustrous velvet texture on the surface. The chest is adorned with a symbolic crescent ornament—not a simple print, but a 3D appliquéd craft. The silver chain choker at the neck and the fitted purple long gloves are the finishing touches of the overall palette. Adding purple to the classic black, white, and red combination brings both a sharp edge and noble elegance. Of course, the most striking feature is the pair of black horns atop the head, which required very careful mounting to the wig to avoid disrupting the overall silhouette. For the hair, I selected a straight, layered long white wig with a smooth texture that gave off an icy blue, lustrous sheen under the lighting.

For the makeup, I selected reddish-pink contact lenses, creating a strong warm-cool collision against the cool-toned blue-purple environment. I deliberately desaturated the eyeshadow and blush to emphasize the porcelain base makeup, which better suited the character's slightly delicate, aloof beauty. In terms of posing, we experimented with several sets interacting with the piano. For the final selected shot, I sat slightly sideways on the piano bench with legs naturally crossed, my left hand gently brushing my jawline. This pose not only lends the frame a sense of waiting and listening, but also visually contrasts the legs in White stockings against the dark skirt, accentuating the sleek lines flattered by the stockings. Using the purple long gloves near the chest and profile as visual leading lines was a very effective expressive technique.

The reflective floor of the shooting environment was a key element for this shoot, clearly mirroring the silhouette of the piano bench and enhancing depth and spatial dimension in the composition. The crystal candelabra and candles in the background were magical atmospheric boosters; combined with the ambient blue lighting, the overall frame instantly took on the texture of a gothic fairy tale. The subtle sparkles on the costume looked like stardust scattered across the skirt under the lights. Wearing this outfit, my strongest takeaway was that a "sense of restraint" is also a form of beauty. To maintain this exquisite image, every detail had to be carefully maintained: no wrinkles on the gloves, no snags on the stockings, and no stray hairs in the hairstyle.

As Sorasaki Hina in Blue Archive, she naturally carries a solemn authority and sense of duty that commands respect. Yet in a formal dress, her persona seems to receive a gentler expression—like a serene interlude stolen amidst busy duties away from the General Student Council. In front of the camera, I tried my best to keep my expression composed and calm, while hoping my eyes could convey a subtle softness. In post-processing, we avoided exaggerated edits, mainly strengthening the consistency of the Blue-toned backdrop palette while preserving skin textures, ensuring the complexion remained healthy and radiant even under cool light sources. The highlights were brightened just enough to accentuate the velvet texture of the skirt. I personally love this atmospheric finished cosplay photoshoot.
