Cosplaying Dr. Kal'tsit (Kal'tsit cosplay) on the final day of the Hypergryph Carnival this time, the booth foot traffic was honestly even more overwhelming than expected. Securing clean frontal angles was virtually impossible, so I could only hunt for framing opportunities along the edges or from slight lateral profiles. As soon as the main crowds dispersed a bit, we quickly snapped a few takes; although it's a bit of a pity we couldn't capture full-body shots, we still walked away with a solid set of convention photos.

Regarding this Kal'tsit look, the garment actually packs quite a lot of detail. The fabric I selected is relatively structured and crisp, preventing it from appearing flimsy under exhibition hall illumination. The neon-green edge trim along the neckline paired with the black choker serves as one of the definitive signature elements of this styling. To capture the Doctor's chilly detachment, I chose high-pigment green contact lenses, while the eye makeup focused on deepening the eye sockets and adding subtle reddish undertones along the lower lash line to channel that look of late-night research exhaustion, staying true to anime-style aesthetics. The blunt bangs were carefully trimmed by hand, and the sidelocks on either side had to be combed along facial contours to streamline the face shape.

The wig underwent tailored cutting—the blunt bangs and elongated sidelocks, combined with the feline beast-ear headpiece, gave the overall head shape a rounded silhouette. Anchoring the animal ears was somewhat tricky; to keep them from dislodging while walking around the venue, I reinforced them with numerous clips inside and out. Shooting also required constantly dodging the crowds while scouting angles with clean ambient lighting.

On the booth stage, I strived to maintain the character's calm, subtly scrutinizing gaze. During the shoot, the photographer suggested interactive gestures—such as extending a hand toward the lens paired with an intense stare—which easily yielded impactful frames, conveying that commanding tension of 'You require medical treatment' or 'Hand over your report.' Even though surrounded three layers deep by onlookers, once fully immersed in character, the outside clamor simply faded away.

For this cosplay costume, the dominant white palette is prone to blowing out under the chaotic lighting of an expo hall, necessitating ongoing adjustments to angles and exposure settings with the photographer. The dotted green stitch accents along the sleeves were hand-applied to faithfully evoke the canonical sci-fi tech aesthetic. The bright-green sash draped diagonally across the chest, emblazoned with white lettering, creates a fluttering effect while walking; however, it easily got jostled out of alignment in the crowd, requiring frequent straightening. The black techwear prop accessories at my waist were also crafted by hand using lightweight materials, providing substantial presence without excessive heft. Walking through the halls, the beast ears and long wig drew recognition from many passersby who asked for photos; despite the fatigue, it was incredibly rewarding.

I was accompanied by a fellow fan, and we exchanged tips on wearing costume accessories while waiting backstage. The atmosphere of such large-scale conventions is truly exhilarating—seeing so many like-minded players gather together brings immense fulfillment even when only snapping a few casual shots in a quiet corner. Moving forward, if given the chance, I'd love to explore the fabrics further to improve the drape of the sash, or optimize the micro-details of the mounted accessories to elevate overall accuracy to the next tier. Next time, I'll definitely line up earlier to secure complete full-body portraits right at the center stage.
