The photos taken during my visit to the Spring Banquet event have finally been organized. Cosplaying as Shu from Arknights, the color palette and props this time aligned wonderfully with a spring outing vibe. The results under natural outdoor lighting turned out far better than expected, so I'm excited to share the makeup, hair, and shooting experience with everyone.
Starting with the Wig styling: I chose a wig with a yellow base accented by prominent blue highlights on both sides, with a subtle yellow-green gradient transition in the middle section. To avoid a monotonous look, I specially braided a thick side braid cascading down the front, hand-decorated with pale blue and pink five-petal flowers and pearls. Combined with the large pink flower and hairpin at the back of the crown, the visual depth is rich. The off-white horns with blue gradient tips at the top not only make the crown silhouette more three-dimensional, but also perfectly balance the heavy feel of long hair, adding a touch of nimble grace.
For makeup, to suit the character's demeanor, I opted for light blue contact lenses to brighten my gaze, paired with reddish-brown eyeshadow and slightly downward-slanted eyeliner. Coupled with curled eyelashes, this creates an innocent yet divine expression before the camera. For lips, I chose a hydrated orange-pink tint, which, alongside lightweight foundation and pointy ear props, radiates a natural, translucent glow while visually reinforcing non-human traits. The flower choker around my neck echoes the color scheme of the overall attire beautifully.
The costume featured vibrant, contrasting colors. The upper body consists of a ginger-yellow camisole spliced with grey-white-blue striped fabric across the chest, paired with a purple skirt below. The standout feature lies in the two extremely voluminous magenta-purple puff sleeves, featuring thick white plush trim and tassel knots at the cuffs. Although slightly tiring to wear due to their weight, they inject immense visual tension into the frames. Bright yellow gloves with green leaf motif lines, along with props like a small white teacup and a small golden wine goblet, maxed out the relaxed vibe of a Spring Banquet.
The shoot took place next to a modern grey building with pillars under crisp, clear outdoor lighting. Because the architecture provided soft diffuse reflection, facial lighting was remarkably even, while a large aperture blurred the background railings and crosswalks, drawing the visual focus sharply onto the subject. The fourth and sixth photos captured the exact moment a light breeze swept through; fluttery wig strands and tassels broke up static rigidity, delivering a striking dynamic flow. This high-key bright style in natural light fits the spring theme exceptionally well. Although the setup was intricate, seeing the unedited photos immediately conveyed the natural tension of outdoor Cosplay convention photos, making it a thoroughly enjoyable shooting experience.
