When I first got this Lappland leather jacket, my first impression was how heavy it really was. The high standing collar combined with metal rings design is very hardcore; wearing it, the crisp silhouette instantly lifts the character's aura. To restore the wild and carefree nature of the character, the makeup heavily emphasized thickening the black tear stains at the outer corners of the eyes, matched with blue contact lenses and a silver wig. The fluffy animal ears on top of the head and the large white tail behind were also adjusted to their most natural state, and the black totem on the leg was slowly outlined piece by piece using an eyeliner liquid pen. This time shooting against a pure white background in the studio had relatively high requirements for lighting, with the key being handling the texture of the black leather. The leather jacket is prone to reflection under lights; photographer Xiao Z put a lot of thought into the lighting setup, adjusting the position of the softbox to preserve the texture and details of the leather jacket while avoiding a cheap plastic reflective feel. The chain decorations on the pants and the light-colored wide webbing on the chest increased the layering of the overall outfit, playing a good role in visual segmentation within the frame. The volume of the prop giant sword is extremely exaggerated, featuring a semi-circular handguard structure. Waving it takes quite a bit of physical strength, especially when wanting to strike a posture of holding the sword with one hand on the shoulder and looking back sideways, which requires tightening the core strength. To ensure the sword blade presents sharp lines in front of the lens, we tried various angles including standing, sitting, front view, and back view. When sitting on a bar stool, utilizing the inclination angle of the giant sword and the extension of the legs, a nice diagonal composition can be pulled off within the picture. While holding this sword, I kept searching for the character's slightly crazy yet cold gaze, trying to keep my posture relaxed while maintaining aggressiveness in the eyes. Shooting this leather jacket in the studio during the transition between summer and autumn was still quite stuffy; every time a set of actions was finished, I needed to catch my breath a bit, touch up the eye makeup that got a bit smudged from sweating, and tidy up the wig bangs. To shoot a satisfactory anime-style photo set, both preparation and on-site physical exhaustion are indispensable. For fellow enthusiasts who also want to try this styling, I have a few small tips. When choosing a leather jacket, try to opt for matte materials; inferior high-gloss leather easily makes the picture look dirty. It is recommended to use hair wax to bring out the layers of the wig, especially the bangs shouldn't be too close to the scalp. If the tattoo on the leg is hard to draw well, you can first use a light-colored eyebrow pencil as a base before deepening it. Although the prop sword is cool, pay attention to wrist force application when holding it to prevent strains. Although the whole shooting process was tiring, seeing that figure with animal ears and a leather jacket in the final photos made all the previous preparation and sweat feel worth it. Being able to capture the character's sternness and uninhibited nature through the lens was a thoroughly satisfying experience.
